Metal Oil Filter Housing Cap, and Housing??

I wish someone at Dorman would give a clear answer, as to the fit on the JL 3.6. Also, if there.is a clear answer for a modification of existing Dorman parts to fit the JL.

It isn’t too big of a job, just pull the intake, pop the cooler off and install the new. Make sure the surface is nice and clean before putting on the new one. Parts are pricy but labor to have someone else do it is way more.

doorman is no longer making or selling the 926-959 housing. i found some that are on amazon they are a iso factory but from china around $139 anybody have any thoughts .mine is still good 2021 wrangler sport but i guess it not bad to be ready with a replacement

I've been actively looking into this myself for my EcoDiesel. In my search I did a bit of researching into the 3.6L because they have very similar UFI oil filter assemblies. I can't find any metal oil filter caps for any of the current Wrangler engines. Your best bet is to go online to RockAuto and buy a couple of spare caps.

I definitely think there are possible future applications that could be made. But at the moment nothing is available for the JL's, no matter which engine you have. Lots of pickup trucks have those options though, just not Jeep brand pickup trucks.

I have a possible modification I will be trying out on my EcoDiesel, but it also involves a plastic oil filter cap. And honestly if that fails, I'm just going to roll with second gen oil filter cap and keep replacing the oil filter. Not to get too far off topic obviously.

Point being I've already looked into this, nothing is available. You just going to have to suck it up and stick with the plastic cap for now.

We have a JK in the shop right now that the owner put one of those coolers on and is now intermittently flagging some oil pressure faults. Coincidence maybe? Hard to rule it out.

Had one on my JKUR. Worked great. If the sensors are not replaced at the same time it is wasted work. My sensors wouldn’t come out of the oem housing. They are lock tite’d in place. It is probably the sensor. The sensor in my JKUR failed long before the housing had troubles.

The installed sensor came with the Chinese metal housing. Oem were back ordered, and the owner broke the wiring harness, which is even more back ordered. Lots of fun.

Hmm…. Dorman didn’t supply the sensors with any of the housings. Only The oem ones came with sensors. I replaced the oem sensors that were welded to the original with oem ones also.

Waited 3 weeks for OEM press/temp sensor. Pcv still on back order unknown del

Appreciate that link good to know it should be machined 1st.

I didn’t replace mine as after I did an oil change the leak stopped. Maybe the oil shop nicked the o-ring on the cap??? but no leaks since I did my own. Now have a spare oil cooler.
