So I’m waiting for my JL to show up in the next couple weeks, I already have a JK that I think I built up a little “too much” with a teraflex 4” lift and fox shocks, it looks phenomenal but it rides EXTREMELY stiff for a DD. So the plan for the new one is to go MCGC 2.5” and possibly King shocks, which I’ve never heard a bad thing about with my 37s.
Has anyone else done a combo similar to this?

Ive always believed its best to match the springs and shocks from the same manufacturer, given they are matched for spring rate and valving. Being Kings can be customized, Im sure you can get them valved to compliment the spring rates of the MCs.

Personally, this is why I keep returning back from Dynatracs Endurosport 2" lift and then will pair with MC arms and track bars. This way, the shocks and springs are matched perfectly by Dynatrac and the MC flex joints will give an awesome ride. I had them on my LJ and they are really good at on road compliance.

Contact AccuTune to get the King Shocks custom valved for your vehicle and intended use. You could also get their springs.

I have the full set of MC arms and can’t recommend them enough

Thanks for the advice guys. Or I guess as a conventional option, is there anyone that’s out there with some good objective opinions on ride quality of the shocks offered (6pak/RockSport) with the GC kit?

From another poost:

I wrote this on a post about pairing shocks with a Metal Cloak lift but it applies here too:

So you dont necessarily have to buy shocks from the same company that makes the springs, but it helps to know what variables you are dealing with.

The quick resolution is, do not pair Digressive shocks with a multi-rate spring unless the shocks are valved by that company, and Linear valved shocks work with just about any kit.

Also, since you already have a spacer lift on this vehicle, you can easily swap out things like Springs and Shocks without having to change anything. I would recommend starting with coils if you are planning to carry more weight, and yes Teraflex does great for load carrying, while MetalCloak and ICON who make multi-rates front and rear are great for ride, they dont carry load the same.

Unless you want the bling, the rocksport are fine. I’ve never been much of a shock snob and honestly haven’t even found a shock that was noticeable enough to give me pause and say “wow these shocks are amazing” if they are out there, I’d like to try them though
