Just ask @cosine he knows!
Thanks for posting this OP, would like to get up there for sure. Probably have to stay overnight in Amarillo since my wife isn't a fan of camping. Only a 3hr trip up there so would be a great weekend getaway. Look forward to your experience up there and anyone else that has info please share.

I'm pretty sure I'd be up for a trip in the spring if anyone wants to get up there too! Looks like a very cool area to explore.

Just finished a day at Merus. Started at 9:30 and finished at 4:30. I did the blue group guided tour and it was fantastic. Can't say enough good things about this place. Was in a group of 10. Mostly JL's, 1 Bronco, 1 highly modified Gladiator on 40's, another Gladiator on 37's, and bone stock Gladiator Rubi that still had it's paper tags. All were able to handle all the trails fine. The stock Gladiator struggled on a few and high centered on one due to longer wheel base.

Will post more when I get back home tomorrow and will include some pics and video.

Already trying to figure out when I can come back

I am waiting on Go Pro video from my son but below are a few pics from the rim in the morning.

So the day started at 9:00 with check in. At 9:15 they did a drivers meeting where they went over a few basics and made sure everyone had a working radio. Around 9:30 we departed. As I mentioned in an earlier post there were about 10 rigs in our group. There were a total of close to 20 for the blue tour so they split us in to 2 groups. There was also a green group. Green is basically flat dirt roads with the exception of the drop in and exit from the canyon which are quite steep. My rig is a 22 JLUR stock height and I didn't have any issues getting through the blue tour. I did rub in a few spots but nothing serious so unless it is you 1st time off road I recommend at least starting with blue.

We spent the 1st half of the day doing trails on the canyon rim. Some moderately challenging trails with some steep drop ins and steep inclines with great views. It was a great way to start the day. Challenging runs but nothing too extreme. After about 2 hours we headed back to the entrance for bathroom break and got ready for our decent in to the canyon.

Part 2 stared with a trail called Sidewinder, great trail that was somewhat challenging. After that we did our decent in to the canyon. The drop in is steep but it was fun. Once we got to the bottom we took a river bed to the dry falls area and had lunch. After lunch we took a black trail that had recently been downgraded to blue so it was a "difficult blue" . It was fun with some challenging spots but no spots where I was asking myself what the hell did I get myself in to. We then worked our way around the back side of the canyon to the front for our ascent back to the top but lots of fun on the way with several challenging spots.

It was a great day., My Jeep is my daily driver so while I love to go have fun off road I have to keep in mind how I am getting to work on Monday. This place challenged me and put the Jeep to the test and it passed. While I was uneasy in a couple spots the Jeep handled everything without an issue. We spent most of the day in 4LO and there were spots where lockers were a big help but there were rigs without lockers that did just fine. There were of lot of inclines looking straight up at the sky, lots of steep descents, and lots of off camber spots and lots of articulation so disconnect the sway bar.

I will be going back without a doubt. I will probably stick with the blue tour but if I go back and camp may try a black trail or 2. When you camp you can go off by yourself and explore. It isn't Moab or Colorado but this is a TX gem and I recommend it.

I would love to go camping/wheeling here, but the prices are quite steep...
