So I brought my jlus to the dealership for some warranty work. They are working in the engine bay so. Today I had to grab some things out of my wrangler and pick up a rental car. Upon grabbing items out of my vehicle I noticed that the mechanics have deflated my front tires on the reason it is easier for them to work on without having their mechanics have to stand on a stool.

So my wrangler is my first vehicle that I've had with a lift in it. It is only 2 inch sitting on 33 inch duratracs. I dont understand the concept of having the tires deflated for ease of access. Then when I brought my concerns to their attention they immediately hoisted my jl back up off the rubber. But not before I was able to snap a few pictures.

So my question is this. Does having both front tires deflated sitting on the rims and then on the concrete with no support while the mechanics are working on it for however long going to hurt the integrity of my rubber or my rims

Should be fine as long as they don't try to roll it around that way, and that it's not sitting on the rim itself which it clearly isn't in your pictures - tires still has some air, just deflated to take a couple inches out of the sidewall.

I am not sure if this is ok. I am sure that if I saw my truck like that I would be pissed off. I’m tired of the dealers.... I think it’s bootleg and an easy way out. Lazy

Looks like half a pound of air. I have removed the tires and used jackstands to lower the vehicle for repairs.

I turned wrenches for 15 years at 3 different shops. You have no risk of damage to the tires or wheels. Depending on the vehicle it’s sometimes the only way to get engines in and out of taller trucks. It also could make it possible for the tech to not climb up and down on the bumper to be able to reach parts at the back of the engine bay. I would have any concerns if it was my Jeep

I don't think I would do that personally, but I don't think they are going to hurt anything either.

Thank you everyone for the replys. I've come to terms with it and that it is what it is. Sometimes there are better ways to do something but. In any case. I'm just hoping they can get my jeep fixed soon.

^that looks more like a little rubber tit that the camera just hit at the perfect angle.
