That is the beauty of the 392, it actually is driver preference what gearing you want. If you are a stop light drag racer, 4.88 is great. There is only 1 stop light in 30 miles of me. My street is 50 mph and next turn is 65 Mph. I might not see another car in 20 miles. 35s and 3.73s is perfect for me and I see 8th gear and 18-20 mpg every tank.
This. 4.88 would be fine for the best performance from a stop - but I need reasonable rpms for the highway as well. I feel like 4.88 with 37s would a bit too much rpm at 75mph

Yeah I have to say because my BFG KO2 tires are closer to 35.5 inches the jeep sees 8th gear all the time with the 3.73s. It’s only when towing I can tell regearing would help but even then it’s not that noticeable because of all the torque.

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t think about it in terms of “lift over factory”, more about what capabilities did I want in the end. Ultimately I wanted the articulation of the clayton arms along with the load capacity of their springs. It rides much better than factory (less floaty), and with the Fox shocks it’s fully adjustable.

2.5” to me is perfect if you‘re sticking with 37s of any brand. Could probably even go 38s if you wanted to. But this is perfect for my goals.

Next is 4.56 gear conversion
Can you confirm that this lift provided about 1" lift over factory? I am very interested in installing this lift. Thanks!
