I have no idea about an earlier one, but have been waiting for them to make one for a long time & they finally have. If there was an earlier version I missed it.. this one’s black.

My longer mounting pins will def gouge the vehicle, 17mm is the way to go

Good to know! I wasn't aware there was more than one length... I likely have the 40mm. Thinking about adding some TrailRax in the distant future and this isn't an issue that crossed my mind.

The shorter ones arrived. Should be good 2 go here

Btw I think they should rubberize the clamp ends so as to not damage the paint finish of the hard top. I’m going to use some adhesive velcro strips but PlastiDip would probably be better.

Can you use the original PaxRax plate for mounting the MaxTrax or do you have to get this plate?
