MAXIMUS-3 Knows Winch Plates...
* In 2013 Maximus-3 was the first company to design a winch plate to fit a Warn Zeon inside the JK 10A/Hard Rock bumper. A feat of engineering that was said to be "not possible."
* Our Winch Plate structurally exceeds all standards required by winch manufacturers.
* Maximus-3 offers a complete winch mounting system with the most accessories, options and customization.
* Our accessories are designed to be compatible with other Maximus-3 products.
* Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - our winch plate has been often imitated/copied.
* You can count on Maximus-3 to get you out of a sticky situation.

MAXIMUS-3 JL WINCH MOUNT PLATE & ACCESSORIES
PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

Designing a winch mount/plate is not just about proving a flat piece of metal to to bolt your winch onto. A well-engineered critical component like a winch mount requires proper engineering design to obtain optimal structural integrity and making sure that it will perform when you most need it, without adding too much weight. Structured sheet metal plate is 3 to 5 times stiffer than non-structured sheet of the same thickness and hardness. It’s also important to make sure that the design is compatible with vehicle’s frontal impact safety features like crumble zones and airbags deployment in the event of a front collision.

Maximus-3 winch mount plate is an innovative compact and well optimized structural design, Maximus-3 winch mount is made from ¼” thick steel plate (not 3/16”) and is correctly formed (bent) and welded to increase bending stiffness against bending moments during use for straight pull recovery or use for down force (suck down). The plate sets your winch inboard of the bumper at optimized height to ensure correct winch line (synthetic rope) to the fairlead operating angle. We also incorporated release features at mounting points to allow proper function of front crash zones on the chassis frame in the event of a front impact.

Maximus-3 winch mount was design with DIY and ease of install in mind so that any able person with average mechanical knowledge can install it himself or herself without any cutting or use of specialized tools required. We integrated self-hold-up features in the plate to aid holding up the plate and the winch during install to make it easy on the lone one-man installer.

The system is universal to give you the freedom to install most popular winches on the market, both centered or offset set-up. Maximus-3 Winch Mount Plate was designed as a complete recovery system offering a range of optional accessories.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES:

Maximus-3 Performance Hawse Fairlead: MAXIMUS-3 MAXGLIDE Performance Fairlead is CNC machined from 1” thick grade 600 aluminum, which is thicker than standard fairleads. Featuring a larger radius for smooth rope glide. This is a well-balanced design of optimal function, performance and aesthetics. Available in three finishes:
* Red Powder Coat Finish (Part#: HR1013MR)
* Black Powder Coat Finish (Part#: HR1013MB)
* Gray/Gunmetal Hard Anodized Finish (Part#: HR1013MG)

Fairlead Adapter Plate: The Centering Plate serves as a relocation plate for your Fairlead to be able install your winch in the centered position in the bumper. Included in our winch mount kit (part# JL1012WM) Optionally you can use a Hook Anchor instead.

Maximus-3 Hook Anchor: The Hook Anchor serves the same functions as the Centering Plate but with the additional function as a secure anchor point/loop for your winch hook. Two color options:
* Red gloss powder coat (Part# JL1015HR)
* Black textured powder coat (Part# JL1015HB)

Filler Trim Plates: The Filler Trim Plates will trim the area around your winch and fills the gap between the bumper and the grille to cover the chassis frame for a more finished install. Two styles available:
* Zeon Trim Plates - for Warn Zeon series winches (Part# JL1017FZ)
* Standard Trim Plates - for small body winches (Part# JL1017FS)

D-Ring Loops: The D-Ring Loops will give you secure points to attach a pair of recovery D-Rings. The loops are made from ½” thick steel and mount to the bottom side of the winch plate (required for install) Two color options:
* Red gloss powder coat (Part# JL1022DR)
* Black textured powder coat (Part# JL1022DB)

Maximus-3 Front Tow Loops: The Tow Loops will give you secure connection points for tow bars to flat tow your Jeep behind an RV or a Motor Home. Made from 5/8” thick steel these Tow Loops mount directly to the chassis frame and fits 7/8” connection pin. Available in two colors:
* Red gloss powder coat (Part# JL1025TL)
* Black textured powder coat (Part# JL1026TL)

Maximus-3 JL Filler Trim Plates

When you install a winch in your JL Rubicon Steel Bumper, you have to remove the factory plastic trim (between the bumper and grille) This creates an unsightly open space. Maximus-3 created a solution called "JL Filler Trim Plates." This optional accessory surrounds your winch and gives your JL a clean and finished look.

Maximus-3 JL Filler Trim Plates are made of aluminum, and provide an access hole to route your winch's electric cables. The Filler Trim Plates bolt into existing holes in the chassis frame via a self-threading bolt (included) Easy install, no drilling necessary.

We have two models of JL Filler Trim Plates:
JL Zeon Filler Trim Plates (Part# JL1017FZ)
JL Standard Filler Trim Plates - designed to fit most other winches (Part# JL1017FS)

What's your current guesstimate for the Superwinch-capable Gen2 plate? No hurry for me as I don't have a Jeep yet let alone a winch but my #1 choice is a Superwinch EXP so just curious. Thanks.

Hi @Karl_in_Chicago

Our Gen1 winch plate is a masterpiece of engineering and manufacturing, but it unfortunately will not accommodate the large body of the Superwinch EXP. Basically the main issue is the limited space in the bumper pocket and between the JL frame rails. It's a "catch 22" coming up with a bolt-on "one size fits all" solution - all without cutting your JL. There are tons of factors to consider and each little change to the design affects how different winches occupy the space. But we will figure it out, no doubt.

A Gen2 winch plate is definitely in the works. The only improvement we are searching for is compatibility with one more winch...the Superwinch EXP. At this point I can not give a great guesstimate, it's on the drawing board and prototypes are getting fitted. But we will not release it until it's perfect. When the time comes we will announce it on this thread.

Cheers - Maximus-3

OK, sounds reasonable. FWIW I would *not* be mounting it in the Jeep steel bumper but would instead be using an aftermarket. At this time I like the Rockhard 4x4 unit but there's plenty of time yet.

Our winch plate is designed specifically for the OE JL Rubicon Steel Bumper. We can not guarantee fitment with any aftermarket bumpers, as this is not our product's intended use. Aftermarket bumper manufactures typically offer their own winch mounting solutions. Be well and Jeep on.

My buddy and I just installed the Warn VR 10-S in the JL steel bumper using the Maximus 3 plate. Eventually, it fit great, but we did have to cut some welds flush on the Jeep to make it fit properly.

Also, the 2 bolts provided to secure the fairlead and front plate to the bumper are in no way long enough. I'm going to go to Home Depot tomorrow to get longer bolts.

Finally, NO INSTRUCTIONS? Come on! The company's YouTube video is helpful, but having paper instructions AND the video would have been perfect.

Hi @shacdaddy,
Sorry you had to deal with these issues. For your information:
* Maximus-3 recently made a change to our winch plate to accommodate for the factory weld tolerance. Future customers will NOT need to grind anything for the install.
* We accidentally sent incorrect bolts (too short). We will happily ship you the correct ones.
* Install guide was supposed to be included. Glad you found our install video to be helpful.

I apologize that your order fell below our high-standards, let's see what we can do to make you happy. PM heading your way.
the Maximus-3 crew

Installed my winch yesterday using the Maximus-3 mounting plate, and also mounted the Maximus-3 tow loops at the same time. Very pleased with the quality of the products. Will be ordering the license plate holder and eventually the stinger bar from Maximus-3 also.

Hi @Hibypass, thanks for the positive feedback. The winch plate & tow loop combo looks nice.
Give us a call when you are ready for that JL Stinger. Thanks and we value you as our customer.

I’m wanting to transfer my Warn 9.5 CTI from my JK over to my JL factory steel bumper. I’ve read there might be fitment issues but haven’t confirmed. Do you know if the CTI will fit with your plate?
