I'm not saying this is the cause, but that it could be for some.

I initially had brackets loose on my first 500 mile trip. Replaced all hardware with much strong hardware and orange locktite. No longer loose after 9000+ miles of towing.I could see how loose brackets could result in frame damage that is being seen.

So does that mean these brackets are being bent outwards from the braking forces? Interesting.Unfortunately some customers opt out of this option and trust their towing braking system.
Nice to hear, this is my use for them. I try to avoid any extreme angle side pulls anyway, but now I'll have an even better reason. Some customers are buying the tow loops just for recovery only, in which case the tie rod is not required.
We are aware of this issue and this why we always recommended that users add the towing tie rod that we designed specifically for flat towing. Unfortunately some customers opt out of this option and trust their towing braking system.
I researched the crap out of this purchase — twice. This is the first I’ve heard of the tie-rod. It never came up in my email discussion of flat-towing parts either. (I initially bought the wrong loops. The Maximus guys were great about accepting the return, but the tie rod was never mentioned. Never saw it in an installation video or discussion either.)This tie rod was not available or even part of the conversation when these first came out, so always recommend is not completely accurate... It sounds like the tie rod can be purchased separately, not sure what I am going to do as I just noticed that mine are bent as well and I don't feel like repurchasing the entire system.
Me too, really disappointed/pissed off and hope the hell my frame is not cracked. I don't have time this weekend to pull it all apart. When these were originally purchased, I clearly read safe for towing, heck the original sales pitch thread for 2019 is still on here. I would have purchased the tie rod bar originally if I had of known about it. In fact, Maximus should have reached out to everyone that purchased these to let them know that they were not safe for towing without the tie rod bar.I researched the crap out of this purchase — twice. Did you look into this setup? Anyone using it?I purchased the Maximus tow loops for a flat tow setup a few months ago. I also researched the heck out of the various options and never saw any reference to a tie rod setup for the tow loops. When I called to place my order they advised that they were now recommending the tie rod. Thankfully, I am late to the flat towing game as the tie rod is a substantial and heavy piece. I would be ticked had I towed without the tie rod and then they came out with one.
