I know this is the roof rack thread but is there a best guess on the tire carrier ETA you referenced earlier? Thanks! @Maximus-3
On the Maximus-3 JL Tire Carrier we are estimating about 4 weeks until they are in-stock and ready to ship. Shooting for the end of the month.

@Maximus-3 Just wanted to get some clarity on the rack, Obviously the short version can have the freedom panels removed with the rack on. Does the long version also give enough room for them to be removed?
@HotKarlTheJL yes, you can remove panels with long version. I did.

Hi @HotKarlTheJL. yes the freedom panels can be removed/installed with both the LONG and SHORT Maximus-3 Roof Rack.

I got mine installed. The long version. The freedom panels come off easily. Extra 8 bolts to remove the the whole hard top. It will add on about 15 minutes to the removal.
The Maximus-3 mounts and hardware is quality stuff. Very well made and painted. No issues installing.

Do you guys have any pics or details of the tire carrier? Really interested in it!
We are excited about our Maximus-3 JL Tire Carrier too. Currently we have a large batch in production. It's looking like the official launch is only a few weeks away.

You just unbolt the 8 brackets from the top then reinstall. Easy enough as they are all the same size and take an Allen wrench on one side.

You could take the brackets off entirely, but it’s not really intended to work with a soft top. The tricky part there would be the front brackets, but it’s doable and not a big deal if you are changing the top out for the whole summer.
I wanted to go this route with my JK but ended up doing backbone instead. I haven’t gotten a JL yet but my plan is to use my current rhino rack tray and figure out if I go Maximus 3 or backbone. With the JL Maximus setup is it going t0 be difficult to remove brackets around the soundbar? Did you have to relocate satellite radio antenna?

Hi @cmmurray77 thanks for considering the high-capacity Maximus-3 JL Roof Rack Mounting System. It is not difficult to remove the brackets, adds about 30 minutes to hard-top removal. Not a bad trade-off for the strongest rack on the market.

For good reception it is necessary to relocate the satellite antenna - we include a relocation bracket with our Roof Rack System.

The sound bar has two tricky bolts but it is no biggie. I did relocate it as that was part of the kit that Maximus-3 provides. Super easy!

Thanks for the reply. I currently have the 72x57 pioneer platform. Will that still work with your brackets? I imagine so but wanted to comfirm.

@Maximus-3 - can you describe and/or show pics of the bolts on the roll bar that must be removed to completely remove the hard top?
