There's a lot going on in that post lol But if it boils down to rich and powerful people pretty much dictating the rest of our lives, you aren't wrong.

Small solar chargers in the roof probably wouldn't do much other than get you a mile or two over the course of a trip. Weren't there a couple cars that tried having little solar panels? I could swear I read something about it maybe a year or so ago.
There were some solar powered cars. Basically a tricycle frame with a giant solar panel bubble. They worked, but you could arguably accomplish the same thing with some granola bars and water bottles

At 80 watts it would only take 104 days with 12 hours of sun to recharge a 100kw battery. Take into account the tilt of the earth and your actually in the 6-9 month recharge time :giggle:
Well the roof should hold almost 3 panels @ 1000 watts. The hood could be added for 80 more. Thinking if you are crawling not using the battery to full power, would it not make what it's using or close to it? My house solar is off most of the day for best angle to the sun. It still makes 140 - 160 kwh a day. Man if you were to put a tilting set up and run peak power all day long. Wow I could cut my field in half or less.

All of the conversation here is centered around the practical... range/recharge ability/etc.
You guys are missing the best part:

“If we did an electric vehicle, you'd have the ability to control each wheel’s speed and direction individually. That's huge. "

Controlling power to the wheels, individually, and possibly opposite directions (turn around on a single point) would be amazing!

And with saving a few hundred pounds by removing the transmission, transfer case, drive train, lockers, axles, etc.

Obviously, the practical questions are there:
1) durability
2) water fording
3) vehicle range
4) remote recharge (away from home)
5) remote repair on the trail

But the goal is clear. Solve those, and the actual capability of an EV Wrangler would be amazing.

So the answer is no. I suggest you give a Tesla a test drive sometime...it will inform your perspective.
it won't happen , I just enjoy burning oil , eating steaks and I love watching Daytona races ,I don't like anything this new millennium got us including that Musk guy and no I won't wear a hoodie with flip flops

I don’t wear flip flops...but I do like steaks and Daytona...and off-roading in my Jeep. I bought my Tesla, not to save gas, but because it’s a great ride and I love technology. But it’s just my opinion...no need to adopt if it’s not your thing.

My wife is deaf, and just the idea of honking the horn.... cracks me up.
Honk all day till you're blue in the face. :)

My point. What good is it going to do to add a noise maker to ev's. Like they did not think that one through.

An electric Jeep Wrangler with five 100-lb 37-inch tires. Right.

Yeah, I can’t quite picture it either.
add bead locks and stickies, make that 130lbeach
