Just curious if anyone has had a 2024 manual transmission wrangler successfully delivered.

They are going to have to get the new re designed clutch shipped first. I assume the new assemblies will go to the plant for back orders first then dealers with standing inventory. Would be interested to know what dealers are telling customers that walk in today and want to order a factory build with manual.

They are telling us nothing. I just got my order in today and noticed a restriction on the order form

I wouldn’t order a manual. Or I’d change my order to the auto. Sad to say.
The JL manual is awful to drive on road. Off-road is honestly one of the worst feeling trans I’ve ever driven. I had 3 JKs, all manual trans and were great.
This is the first auto jeep I’ve ever been in.

I don’t understand how anyone who’s driven manuals can test drive one of these and be ok with it.
It has no feel the whole throw of the clutch, the engagement point can’t be felt. You only know it’s engaging when you’re starting to roll. Nothing in the pedal.
I’ve driven tons of manual trans for the last 30 years. And this is what the 7th recall since the JL launched.

I have to agree the clutch feel is terrible, but since changing the idiotic 3.45 gearing to 4.11, I've gotten used to it. Actually, I have no complaints about the clutch other than it's over complicated to adapt to the (again, idiotic) ESS system and all the issues of the dual battery system. One evil begats the next.

With all that said, the auto is still a better choice on and off road IMHO.

Sounds like you drove a sport and not Rubicon. My Rubicon was just fine with the gearing and fun to drive.

Plus you can get 4.88 gearing straight from the factory so it is a different world then what you tested I would think.

We don’t know the clutch is redesigned. They’ve only told us that they’re going to replace the clutches and update the software; some argue that this could mean replacing them with exactly the same clutch they have now so that later if it fails they will know the new software didn’t work.

I thought I'd get use to it. To some extent I have but lord this thing is awful. I sure hope Jeep improves the feel with the next recall but I doubt it. Part of me regrets going with the stick. Could've got a 4Xe if I had swallowed buying an auto.

I owned a Rubi JK manual. And two sport s manuals. I drove a 2 and 4 door Rubi manual, a Sahara and my Willy’s.
The new manual is just that bad.

its not bad at all. Most people expect a stage two clutch feel on a low power design clutch or the feel of a mechanical clutch. ive had my manual jeep almost 5 years and the clutch has done just fine. ive had it with 3 different size gears. the factory sport gears are trash for the 6speed and should be at a minimum 3.73 gears. but i believe all 6 speeds should come with 4.10's for the lower models and 4.56 on the rubicon.

To each their own, I've driven manual transmissions in everything from tiny ecoboxes to commercial 18 speeds.
The JL is the worst. The transmission is fine, but the clutch feel is starting to piss me off the longer I live with it.

True. But then why the long long wait. And why stop production if they are just dumping in the same clutch at the assembly line as they have been installing for years.

Easy but pricey fix, ACT or Centerforce.
