Any of you manual tranny guys out there have auto start? I need to make this work on my 6 speed rubi that's on its way. My JL rubi auto has me spoiled. Pretty sure I can't live without it.

It can be done with some aftermarket remote start kits. The caveat is finding a shop to install if you aren't doing it yourself, as there are some liabilities with remote start on a manual. There are some steps you'd need to do, like engaging the parking brake, before remote start will work. It all depends on the kit/unit installed.Any of you manual tranny guys out there have auto start? I need to make this work on my 6 speed rubi that's on its way. My JL rubi auto has me spoiled. Why? You can park without being in gear and use the parking brake. You should always be parking it in gear
You can but if your parking brake fails or is very worn your will watch your jeep roll away. Automatics have a parking pawl that grabs the output shaft when put in park and it prevents you from rolling. Manuals do not have this so you should be putting it in gear opposite of the hill that you are parked on.Why? You can park without being in gear and use the parking brake.
You can DIY, that's what I've done in the past. Wire it up as an automatic, use an output 'when locked' etc for the clutch switch signal. I hear talk of a motion sensor, that would make it foolproof.Seems like it can be done. Problem is finding a shady mf to do it!
To bad I'm retarded. At least when it comes to wires. You can DIY, that's what I've done in the past. Wire it up as an automatic, use an output 'when locked' etc for the clutch switch signal. I hear talk of a motion sensor, that would make it foolproof.
Best Buy could probably do it, or another good audio place. But the guys there are not created equal. To bad I'm retarded. At least when it comes to wires.
Pretty sure they don't want the liabilityBest Buy could probably do it, or another good audio place. But the guys there are not created equal.
No reputable will, especially Best Buy (use to work there)Pretty sure they don't want the liability
I actually found a local reputable company that will do the install for $400. Parts and labor and I can use a fob or a phone app from anywhere in the world to start it!No reputable will, especially Best Buy (use to work there)
