Manley: 2018 Wrangler reveal might come at special event

Blurb at the end of a Detroit News article about the 2018 Wrangler JL debut maybe coming at a special event instead of traditional auto show.

The next-generation Wrangler also is expected to begin production in Toledo by November. Marchionne and Manley have commended the vehicle for staying true to its heritage, while advancing technologically and in capability.

The company, Manley said, is still determining when and where to unveil the next-generation Wrangler but it’s sounding more and more like it will be at a special event.

“If ever you were going to launch a vehicle outside of a show, Wrangler would be a clear contender for that,” Manley said. “We’re working through at the moment what we want to do.”

Hope so since that's coming up! His comments would make sense since the Easter Safari overlaps with the NY show. It would be great if they could reveal it and also have it at the show for those of us in the tristate area.

I hope hey reveal is sooner then later ..... but my guess it that the count down that the Admin on here has going is correct and it will be a dedicated event come fall.

It's been ready for a long time, even the JT apparently. Probably just dialing it in at this point but the exterior is long finished if they want to show it off. I think they will wait until closer to order banks opening. Why potentially impact current Wrangler sales for no reason?
