Did you get TSB for the related Sw fix?

No i haven’t. I’m gonna drop it off my next day off and hopefully they can at least do that. Hopefully that will solve the issue

My apologies if bumping this is a no-no, but I have a 3 week old JL Sahara that just locked up on me same as the OP while doing 60-65 on the highway. Dropping below 50 brought my steering back to me. Taking it into the shop on Monday to see if someone can tell me what happened.

Very odd as the TSB to fix this has a cutoff of early May. I was under the assumption that all Jeeps after that date had the software that fixes the issue on them.

Good luck getting one of these worthless dealerships to flash your software given your build date is outside the applicable range.

I wouldn’t leave the dealer until they fix it. Lucky you didn’t crash.

Has the NHTSA been in contact with any of you that have lost steering control? They contacted me within a week after I reported my gas tank was leaking badly. Or are they and/or FCA going to do what the FAA used to do? Wait until a certain number of people die before they step in and demand a fix.

That is for sure happening. I've put a lot together if threads and videos of people talking about and showing this issue. I'm worried, like anyone would be, they will drive it around the dealership and it won't present itself as is the case with nearly all automotive issues. But this has been documented enough that they should have plenty to consider.

Sad and confusing update to my situation.

I was driving on a city road, rainy conditions this afternoon. Doing no more than 45 on a 4 lane street, the steering locks up again, same as on the highway but at much slower speed. Dropping below 40 freed it up again.
