The owners manual says there is built in monitoring for stale gas and oil, which will keep the 2.0T running more than usual to keep things mixing ok and to use up the older gas and oil so they can be replaced sooner.

However, that doesn't cover the fact that for some use cases, the gas engine rarely comes on over the course of weeks, and when it does, its at a low rpm and only for a few seconds at a time. This means the engine runs while cold more than it runs hot which should lead to bad things, no? Like build up of un-burnt fuel, and oil that is cold and doesn't circulate as well and the non-hybrid 2.0T.

Since the same engine is used for the non-hybrid it seems to me we have something to worry about in the area of maintain the gas engine in the 4xe application. Maybe running it every week on gas only at highway speed..

Thoughts?
