Made my Ham Radio Antenna Mount Today

Pretty simple. Bent a piece of flat stock. Drilled 2 holes in the top of the spare tire mount and bolted it down. If and when I need the spare, all I have to do is unscrew the antenna itself and the tire comes off over the mount.

That's great idea. I'd feel like I was driving "sideways" with the antenna just off center (-: one side ok, but just off center..nope

Have 2018 JLU Rubicon
I am using a Kenwood 74D HT and a Yaesue Mobile radio (2m and 70 CM). Which antenna are you using? Looks like a Comet. What coax cable are you using? Can't see it in the picture, and where did you pass it through the gate?
I have heard that metal in the belting is causing some interference. Have you experienced this?
