So today I decided to put on a lift and tires on my new JL Sport S and noticed that it came with the M220 rear axle. It’s not anywhere on the sticker and I definitely didn’t pay for that option LOL (even though I wanted it).

The picture is after everything is installed and It’s the one where you can appreciate the axle better. Please tell me if I’m wrong hahaha

Maybe I am missing something, how did you determine you have a M220 vice a M200 rear axle?

How is the ride on those (I assume E rated) tires? I am looking at the same size Ridge Grapplers but the E rating has me concerned about my mostly on-road drivability.

That’s a Rubicon, compare it yourself.

Is it possible they have the same casing and whatnot? Mine looks identical tou youryRubicon on my sahara without the limited slip diff.

I think the two look more similar then in previous years but if you look above the lowest bolts, the D44 has a more prominent point at the base. But there just me. I’m sure there’s a more reliable way way of getting to the bottom of this :)

If you have the Limited Slip Differential option on a Sport/S/Sahara than you will have a Dana 44 Rear Axle.

Ah, good call. I think I see it now. Looks a little more defined on the cover. Looks pretty similar though!

That does look like a D44 axle. Did you order the anti-spin differential? Some window stickers don't specify D44 axle even though it is installed with the anti-spin differential option. You may have to look up your VIN build sheet.

See post #18 here for pictures.

This looks like the M200 (D35) Axle. The area with the fill plug looks different. That's seems the easiest way to tell them apart. Not sure if axle tube diameter is different between the two.

You could always request a copy of your build sheet to determine exactly what axles your vehicle came with. :)

35/12.5/18 Ridge Grapplers. Absolutely love them so far. I’ve only had them in for about 26 hours, but I’ve been on the interstate, country roads, city roads downtown, etc. drive just fine so far.
