Just installed the dead pedal last night. First obstacle was that none of my Allen wrenches fit the head of the bolt which attaches the pedal to the plate (annoying!). I ended up jamming a flat head screw driver tip into the head which was sufficient.
Same thing happened to me. Turns out I had all metric wrenches, 4mm is too small and 5mm was too big. I went out and bought an SAE 3/16 hex and it fit perfect.

Installed my MORE dead pedal in my JLUR, last night. A bit of a pain to install. However, had it done in about 45 minutes once I figure out how to maneuver around in the footwell area.

Loving the support that the pedal affords. It's an excellent add-on.

I just installed mine today, and at first I thought the holes on either my Rubicon or the pedal plate weren’t drilled in the right places because they didn’t line up. I decided to find a drill and make my own wholes, but my dad came to the rescue and told me that it would fit if I clipped whatever was holding the group of wires (as seen in the photo, circled in red) and move them to the left; he was right! Everything else was a breeze after that and now my left foot doesn’t flop around when extended.

Took me about 60 minutes for this install last night and most of the delay was trying to figure out why holes wouldn’t align. Once I realized the plastic tie holding the wire bundle was in the way, things went much smoother. It was difficult to see the tie until I felt it with my fingers. Placing the rag behind the mounting bracket made all the difference with the install.

10 min install. Used the rag technique to hold the bracket in. I also had the factory runners to half sit on for the akward lean. Installed with middle setting...didnt like the feel and moved to furthest setting. 5'11" 270...

Read everything, then 15 minute install using the electrical tape method. Shortest location for a 5'9" old guy.

Just came back from a morning trail run in the desert. The MORE pedal is definitely worth the effort and cost. It affords a solid position in the driver’s seat. The said makes it much more comfortable to drive my Jeep, now.

does it bother you that this position does not let you extend your left leg as far as your right leg (with foot on accelerator)?

I'm shorter than you and currently have it set on the middle position for equal extension of left and right leg. I've been debating on trying the shortest location though. but it's a lot of work :)

I haven't driven it enough after to decide yet. I had the same one on my JK and had it to the shortest position, and was fine with that, so I'm assuming this will work out the same. If I decide to change later I'll post.

First mod! Installed my M.O.R.E. pedal this afternoon. The tape trick was incredibly helpful to hold the bracket in place. The only challenge I had was ratcheting down the rear nut as it was right behind the pedal in the middle position. Needed to use two ratchet extensions. Total install time was about 25 minutes.

Installed mine today in the middle position. Tip on the rear nut, which can be quite the pain. If you use an extension (or a couple of them like I did) to get your socket wrench all the way out past the drivers pedal, it's much easier to tighten up. Trying to fit a wrench behind the dead pedal to tighten that nut up is nearly impossible.

Exactly.

Nice wheels. What do you have on there?

I ended up ordering and installing the Seven Sparta dead pedal on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LF9G6BY/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_texCCbYBYH1K7) because it was so much cheaper and available on Amazon (free 2-day shipping!). M.O.R.E. isn’t available there and other retailers charge for shipping. The quality of it seems good and looks similar. (I actually like the cutout design better.) I do fear its a knock-off though but for $40 less and free shipping, and there quality is pretty good...it can’t be beat.

As for the installation, yeah...it sucked! I ended up losing a nut somewhere behind a panel but thank God I had a spare laying around my garage. The hardest part of getting two arms in the footwell, one to hold the nut in place and the second to ratchet it down. (I had to put to extenders on to be able to ratchet the back nut down behind the break pedal.)

My only question for Jeep is...why didn’t you simply include this to begin with?

One of the best mods you can do for comfortable driving! yes it can be a pain but well worth it.

That bottom trim piece is keeping me from aligning the dead pedal on the two bolts. I spent about 45 mins attempting to get it lined up properly with no success before I realized that trim was causing me a problem. The bottom of the mount seems to want to be just at the trim so it makes it much harder to line up with the trim in place and the bolts sticking through the holes.

@Rocco310, thanks for the suggestion on the wiring clip that had to be removed/moved.

Did anyone have to remove that bottom trim piece? Any suggestions?

I'll try again soon and will probably remove that trim.
