I am going to sound like a shill, but my experience with @Discount Tire here on the site and at my local store was so good I will use them for everything from now on. They price match everything, have everything in stock, great communication, and great service.
Funny you linked it cause your thread is the reason why I was questioning it in the first place. By the looks of it, spline nuts are what I’m going to need to run on these wheels, or hex nuts that don’t bulge like the oem ones. My concern is torquing them down properly etc.
Yeah I doubt i’ve got sockets small enough for clearance like that. Most of my sockets are made for the ugga dugga gun so they’re a little thicker. To be honest I don’t think it’s worth the finessing to get a 22mm, or 7/8” to fit in there. Unless I buy one of those slim sockets from gorilla that have the rubber around it.The bulge on the oem ones pretty much match the socket outer diameter.
If it is even possible, you will have to be extremely careful not to damage the wheels when torquing down a 22 mm or 7/8s nut as the socket won’t fit all the way down.
The much smaller diameter socket (23.5 mm vs 30 mm) is already tight.
Keep this thread updated if they work or not.
