Just wanted to see what everyone around here is running in terms of pressure without beadlocks

I have 37x12.5 tires on a 9 inch wheel

The tires i am using are patagonia MT's and so far i've gone down to 18 psi. In the pic below i am at 18 psi with all the weight loaded on driver front. If you notice, the tire is not bulging out at all and almost looks fully inflated. Just trying to see if i should bring it down to as low as 10 psi.

Would your decision on tire pressure change if you were running C rated sidewall tires vs. E rated?

The milestar's are not E-Rated. They are D-Rated.
But just speaking generally, would it be better to keep a little more air in a softer sidewall tire?

It really depends on the shape of the bead of the wheel and how tight the tire bead is.

Right off the bat, I'd say 10-11 psi you should be fine, most tires on most rims can handle that.

The Patagonias seem to be pretty tight on the wheel, they might allow you to go a bit more, but you'll need to play with them and see.

I run about 11-12 psi on 37x12.50r17 with a 8.5" wide wheel. Been close to rolling a bead but has not happened yet with many miles of wheeling on them.

What about the stock Rubicon setup? What should I target there?

Geoff
This stock rubicon setup is golden down to 12 lbs for rocks.

On 37x12.50x17 on a 9” wheel I’ve been fine at 10 all day.

38.5”x14.5x15 tsl on 12” wheels felt like street pressure when aired down to 10lbs on the trail. Those I ran at 8 lbs just to get the sidewalk to flex.

ive ran numerous other setups, but the point is, with different wheels and different tires, it just takes some experimenting.

about 1/2 what's recommended for your wheel. I won't dip below 15, usually around 18.

I did a snow run a couple of weeks ago in my JLUR with stock tires and wheels running them at 13lbs without any issues.
