Went to a festival in Indiana; got back to Jeep and drove off. Got about 50 feet before we got a low tire pressure warning. Tire pressure was at 29 (we run at 35). Went to service station, aired back up to 35, no obvious air leak noted. Thought maybe it was a bad pressure sensor but drove a little bit and it was staying at 35. Changed out tire for safety (better safe than sorry. Don't want to blow a tire at 75 mph) Now 2 days after that event, the affected tire is still holding pressure at 35. I have to wonder if someone thought it would be fun to let the air out of the tire; not sure what kind of A-Hole does that but all good now. Has anyone else had something similar? it's just weird.

Would it be possible the tire just got a little low over time with temperature change? Maybe a very slow rim leak? It sounds like your TPMS is working properly. I think the TPMS comes on around or below 30 psi.

If you have doubts about the integrity of the tire, you could always spray the tire with soapy water. Any leaks will reveal themselves that way. ?‍♂
Thank you. Will try that and see what happens.

A rim leak is possible. Thank you, agree that the TPMS seems to be functioning but I didn’t know what pressure it alerts at. Will try the spray soap and see if it bubbles.

28psi— inflate to 37 and move a ways to shut the alert off. PITA when your tires have max 35 psi. and want to run 30-32. A Constant battle. A Tazer only lowers the alert to 25 psi. ?

My understanding is that the Tazer allows you to set the TPMS Set point to as low as 25, which would make the alert turn on as 22 or so. Am i in correct in that?

I currently have mine set to 28 PSI and haven't seen an alert when i was at 27

Mine is set at 25psi and definitely doesn't alert at 23-24psi. Once triggered you do have to go above the set point to turn it off though. One of the 39s is at 24psi right now as I shoot for 28psi, overfilled that one, then let too much out.

Now you’ve confused me. Factory alert @28psi— Tazer @25psi lowest setting— make the alert turn on as 22 ?? I haven’t dealt with the expense and hassle of a Tazer for just 3psi, but for 6 ?.

I went with the J-scan, I turned off the TPMS and I absolutely love it. I guess I'm old school, I like to kick the tires and check them when I fill up the tank, along with the oil and other fluids. I also still use that, you know? Sponge and squeegee to wash my window. Ohhhh, I don't know, I guess deep down I always had a this strange, wild, illusion I was a gas station attendant. ?

I should have read further before posting question. You are also saying with the Tazer set at 25psi no alert until lower ? Do you just have to inflate to over the alert psi or a higher number like the factory 37 just to let some out ? ( on today’s list). The dealer surprisingly recalibrated for gears and tires as a warranty repair and I have no other use other than TPMS

Father had a truck (and car) garage, with pumps, I was a gas station attendant. Retired Trucker bumps tires on habitual walk around inspection. Tire knocker’s can be a handy “multi use” tool of the trade ?
