I picked up my Jeep on Monday and have been experiencing an odd issue. At low speeds, usually while braking, the jeep will lurch forward/accelerate. At first I thought that I was hitting both pedals, I have since ruled that possibility out.

While going a couple miles per hour, it almost feels like the transmission downshifts, causing the jeep to lurch/speed up.

It happened while I was parking and while in the drive through today. Scared the heck out of my passenger.

While parking I was almost at a full stop when it happened. Seems quite dangerous.

I had ESS off when it happened.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? I read another thread where some people seemed to have an opposite issue, while a few may have had the same.

I have this issue.. Bucking at low speed. Stopping and Starting. I live on a hill, which appears to aggravate the issue.

Hi Carlton,
We understand why this may be concerning. Please let us know if you decide to have your dealer look into this. Just send us a private message and we will be happy to assist you while your Jeep is at the dealer.

It is random on mine as well. I have also now notices twice that it will also pause before going when pressing the gas. I'm guessing it is a related issue

I just bought a 2021 and I am experiencing the same issue. The dealership told me that I’m just not used to the new transmission since I drove a 2013 before. Why on earth would someone make a transmission so jumpy?
