one of the best things we did when we have the update software done no more screaming fan I love it and it cools just as good I love when people say if you do it won't cool as much whatever mine cools just the same and it's not even loud anymore

Took mine in yesterday for a number of issues and added this to the list...glad to hear that they concurred it was too loud (so able to re-create the problem) and fixed it. Win!

BREAK BREAK

Actually - I misunderstood them. After picking vehicle up, they agreed it was loud, but said that is normal...so no "fix" in place. Guess I need to go back and re-read the TSB...I even pointed it out when I dropped off the car. :swear:

I had Rev A performed last fall (did not resolve the issue) and Rev B performed this morning. I didn't get a chance to drive much today, but on the way home, it was 90+ degrees out with the top off and A/C on. The fan was loud initially, but calmed down soon after (which normally, it just runs high my entire drive home from work ~20 minutes of 35 mph back roads). At this point, I'm optimistic that my issue is resolved. It truly is embarrassing when it's really roaring at a stoplight!

you must have went to a dealer that didn't know there were doing there's been hundreds and hundreds of people on here go have it done and it got quiet including myself. I'm happy as can be withwith its not very loud at all.the dealer you went to must not know what they were doing or didn't do it because hundreds of people wouldn't be saying it got fixed on theirs if it didn't. Your dealer must have not done it right or didn't do it at all

They claimed to have replaced a fan control module last fall and performed a software update today. Like I mentioned. I only drove it a short ways home, but it was hot out and I had the A/C running the entire time. I will certainly keep an ear out this coming week to see if it is more quiet over all. I would still expect it to run high in certain circumstances, but only for a minute or two at most which is what I experienced today when I first left the dealership.

There has been some people saying if you do this it will not cool as much inside the cabin which is not true. the ones that are saying that have not had it done I guarantee it or they would not be saying that. One guy said logic this and bla bla bla I'm telling you I've had mine done for over a month now and it's just as cold air inside the cabin and my fan hardly ever cuts on I'm happy as can be so I don't need to hear anyone say that is not going to cool as much I haven't heard one person yet that had it done that said they regret it that is not getting as cold with the AC everyone's happy any one thing about it getting this done go to the dealer and tell them to look it up it's there in the books and get it done you'll be very happy that you did
So I've had the update for a few months now. Fan sounds awesome but now that we are near mid 90’s to 100 the ac is for sure not keeping up at all when first started up and the inside is hot. I do have to soft top so that doesn't help either. Sitting still it barely cools until you start moving or once you get the interior cooled down. I actually came back to this thread to see if there was a way to reverse the tsb.

The fan noise was embarrassing, sounded like a jet engine coming down the block. So loud within 10 feet you could not have a conversation. Talked to the local dealer and he initially told me that the update was for the interior fan noise... I asked him to update anyway. It is now a different truck. A pleasure to drive now. Extremely quite and the temp gauges in 95 degree heat with ac ( which is ice cold) on was normal and the fan was quite.... This update is a must... worked awesome for me

Finally had it done early this week, but wanted to drive for a few days before I commented.

Yes, it does work, and has stopped the surging issues. The fan hasn't come on since and it's been quite hot here in south LA. As far as cooling difference, it's minimal if at all. Time will tell I suppose, but so far it's great.

That is my main concern, the fan is loud for a reason. Because its spinning fast. How can they make it quiet without slowing it down. As you can see, I LITERALLY LIVE IN HELL and having my fan operating at less than optimal operation is a NO NO.

I am telling you, we were having 95 degree temps with almost 100% humidity and the fan is quite and no issue with the temp gauge or ac temp... It is like a new truck.... no more airplane turbine noise coming down the block. You can stand next to the car hood and hold a conversation. I don't know the details of the inner workings of the reporgram but i think they just went overkill when they didnt have to

Has anyone had this fix done and then have their Jeep revert back to the loud fan noise? My Jeep came back from the dealer for an unrelated issue and the fan is extremely loud again.

What was the unrelated issue and did the dealer apply a software update for the unrelated issue? What temperature was it outside when the fan was loud? The fix prevents the fan from being on max speed at lower outdoor temperatures. It still will run at full speed in higher temperatures.

The unrelated issue was the faulty sliding seat mechanism on the driver seat of my two door. Regarding temperatures, last summer (after the TSB was applied) the fan was not this obnoxious
