This is not going to be a "Rock Monster"

Those guys at TFL are such a joke.

That's going to be a bit more complicated to lift more than 1.5 or 2 inches. Still, I'll wait and see. If they intend to compete with the Wrangler, they probably have some things up their sleeves that will enable making it more capable off-road. I'm not 100% sure they are really competing with Wrangler except with the road oriented crowd.

Seems accurate.

I know they were trying to get it ready for the Chicago autoshow in February but that was super aggressive given how much my contact said they stil had to address so he thought they would wait until the Detroit autoshow in June.

The NY autoshow seems like a good compromise in exposure and wanting to present it when its ready but I would still say the NY autoshow is tentative at best.

Oh, and from other pics, I didn't see any skid plating for the gas tank. Even the most basic Wrangler gets adequate skid plating. Point Wrangler.

Give the size of those tires this 100% looks like the base/mid tier model and not an off road trim.

Those short stubby a arms are what determines how well it will do. It does not matter what kind of tires they put on it. They might even have some different components for their "off-road" trim, but it won't matter as everything will be based on that frame. The control arm mounts and the crossmember that hangs way down low will be in the same location for all trims. And anyone still clinging to the hope that they will offer a SFA as an option can quit dreaming. That massive welded crossmember makes it impossible without it having a separate frame, just for that one trim level.

No one should have been under the illusion that there would ever be a SFA option for at least the past month.

You should see the guys on the Bronco forums, they are still talking about the possibility of a special package that is SFA

Counterpoint would be they did the IFA for Overlanding, and thus being the Yang to Wranglers Yin, or a proper rival

That's a really big stretch to make an argument that they are 'rivals'.

While overlanding is more than easily doable with independent suspension, I do not see this being an ideal platform for most people to use for it. It suffers from the same reason as the Wrangler that makes them a poor choice. Lack of space. That and the fact that neither of them have fixed roof structures to mount gear on.
