During the backgrounder FCA stated the Mojave would do 50mph with the rear locked in 4H. Definitely built for desert running instead of the rock crawling focused Rubicon.
Right.

Shocks. Trim. Software they've been promising since launch.

No sign of what most have been begging, that existing or future competition are expected to provide in spades, and what has been rumored.

Yeah, that heavily camo'd hood in spy shots? Shh... it's hiding a scoop.

1. That's subjective. Both the 3.6 and 2.0 perform very well for the platform they share and have had relatively zero issues after the first 2 years in the JL. I do expect Ford to offer a better premium engine such as a V8 which would be great.
The 2.7L ecoboost in the F150 is getting mid to upper twenties mpg, in the F150! The specs of 325 hp and 400 lb-ft beat both Wrangler gasoline engines.

2.7L Ecoboost 325hp/400tq seems to be the confirmed base engine for the Bronco!
See the snips from wikipedia below which verify that assertion.

Ford insiders have strongly suggested it will not be the 2.7, but something larger. That list is pretty short, either 3.0 or 3.5 TT Ecoboost, pics of the R prototype would suggest it has to be the third gen 3.0L TT Ecoboost.

I'd love to see a V8, but chances seem quite low. If Ford bumps up the offering on the F150 Raptor to one of the forced induction 5.0 or 5.2 V8s then Bronco/Ranger won't be stepping on its ego if they get a 350+hp V6.
If the 2.7L fits both Bronco and F150, then the powerstroke should also fit the Bronco. So, I think Ford has a leg up on powertrain potential over Jeep, unless Jeep opens door number 4, the Hemi.

Ford is in dire shape, they missed on their earnings targets. How will this impact the Bronco release remains to be seen. This forum is undoubtedly a tool for them to gauge Market Share.
I welcome the competition, don't want to see a " Blazer Boondoggle " repeat...

Yeah that and hydraulic bump stops.
I wonder if there will be "Mopar" options for these for our JLs now? Would love to see a Mopar / Fox 2.5" remote reservoir shock and hydraulic bump stop option. Also a 1.5" or 1" spring lift and cast knuckles would be good additions to the wrangler.
