Hey folks! Please forgive me if something along these lines has already been posted, I've searched a ton and haven't found what I'm looking for...
I'm looking to add some interior lighting to my JLU Sport S. Nothing crazy, probably some el wire (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JWTBHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Cz2ZBb69RNGV4)
I'd like to know if there is a way to wire into the dimmer switches as the left switch only controls the door handle lights since the Sport S doesn't have ambient lighting. This would be my preference so that I could easily control the lights.
Another option I have in mind, which may be crazy and impossible so feel free to tell me so, is to wire into the headlights. In my head, this means that the lights would come on at night (which would obviously look best) when the headlights are set to auto but I could also turn them on by turning the headlights on at any time.
The third option I'm thinking of is to tap into the cigarette lighter. I have seen some other people do this for other lights so I'm sure it will work. I understand that I could add and external on/off switch (something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0748D8J3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0O2ZBbB30FS4Q or these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007B86Z94/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PT2ZBb52TEWN1), which I am also fine with.
I'm pretty handy and can do a lot on my own. I'm usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out too. But some of the things I've seen have pointed to the JL wiring being a little confusing so I'm looking for some direction. I'm definitely not an electrician or an expert of any kind as well so whether or not I need a resistor (like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002UHVHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_AU2ZBbPBBD3PR) or wiring harness or things of that nature is beyond me so detailed instructions and pictures (or videos) are extremely helpful to me.
Any and all info or advice would be greatly appreciated!
