Any more Saharas. Looking at doing the Mopar lift and keeping my current 33” KO2s with stock rims.

Installed my mopar lift yesterday. I really am enjoying it so far. Eventually I’ll get new wheels and tires. But gonna ride out the 33’s for now.

How tall is that puppy now. Curious if I’ll have garage issues.

I’ll have to measure tomorrow in the morning. It’s pouring outside now. But I got between 3-4 inches lift in all the places I measured before and after.

That would be awesome. Much thanks. Wouldn’t mind some rain here. Natures irrigation system.

The purpose of the lift is to fit larger tires. You don't get any added clearance with suspension alone because it is your axels / belly that are your low spot. The suspension doesn't do anything to change that. It is the added height of the tires that actually elevate those core components from the ground for greater clearance.

Im not suggesting what you should do as far as modifications go - but, if you are looking for clearance of core components... it is tires that do that vs the suspension.

I’m looking to off-road mine but the belly seems to be the most likely hit point hence I was thinking of going for the lift but keeping 33s. I think it looks fine and I don’t see as much benefit to clearances with the tires as with the lift. I think the pager tires are just more weight and crappier mileage. Does it look better. Yeah. But functionally I think the lift would keep my belly off the ground and the tires won’t make a world of difference. Plus once I wear down the 33s I can replace them with 35s If I want.

True, but you do gain improvements in all your approach/departure/breakover angles.

My Jeep before and After. Really made appearance more Jeep. Took the Factory Rake away too. Not too big. That last photo is Google playing around. I noticed 1 MPG drop since lift and BFG KO233's 275/70/R18

I am about to do the exact same set up with the same JLU Sahara trim.... did you consider Spidertrax 1.75 wheels spacers also?

I suppose. But that is a really tough sell as a cost benefit. Not simply in financial expense, but in ride quality as well. The Mopar lift or other comparable more complete suspensions comE with an upfront cost. As well, a modified suspension changes the drive characteristics and road manners. And an inexpensive lift comes with even more compromise on the ride quality... not sure the improvements in approach / departure or break over justify that level of cost and vehicle drive changes. But then hey, JEEPs are all of our toys... so mod to personal tastes is expected! But that’s just my .02$

Here’s what a RE 2.5 lift (shocks, springs, control arm, sway bar extensions) looks like on 275/70/18 M/T’s. Still getting just under factory mpg and the ride is better than before the lift.
