It's a matter of opinion. I did not want the entire outer lug of the tires sticking out like your pictures. I like the second picture look better for my Jeep than your first one. And if you had 5.71 backspacing and a 9" wheel(+18) that would only move you 6.9mm from your suspension but with my 8.5" and 5.46 backspacing (+18) it moves it 13mm away from suspension but doesn't stick out as far and flexes without rubbing so far. I can go full lock just fine too.I just installed the Rancho 3.5" lift on my Sahara, Most of the lift manufactures recommend a backspace of 4.5 4.75. with 12.5" wide tires. I originally had XD wheels with a 5.71 backspace and they were too close to rubbing and likley would have at flex. I ended up swapping out for Fuel wheels at 4.71 backspace, however there is no way around sticking out 2"-3"
Here is the 4.75 Backspace In fact today I just installed XL wide Mud Flaps so the extra width not a problem for me
Here is the old 5.71 Backspace
Those look great I was looking at those same wheels and tires. Other than the 285s instead of the 295s I see you have had them about 5 months since yours post how are you liking them? Also have you had any issues? ThanksGot them on a couple weeks ago 295/70/17 on 17x8.5 +10 wheels
What kind of rims are those? They look nice.....Read the above part you quoted and it tells ya what kit I installed ;-) it's not the Mopar lift.

Still very happy w/ the combination, wearing real well and settled on 30 psi for running pressure and a bit more comfort (since these are E-rated). I would buy both again without hesitation. If you get 285s you'll have just a bit more room around that plastic fender section (between the actual bumper and the fender) as this was the only place where there was just a bit of contact at full lock but not enough to be a concern TBH. 285s might also be available in a D or even a C rated which would make them a bit more compliant on a lighter Wrangler, although I've found the ride quality on the E-rated to be just fineThose look great I was looking at those same wheels and tires. Believe they were called Fury by Vision Wheels. Got them at discount tire. What kind of rims are those? They look nice.....
What is the actual weight of the 41 rim. Not shipping weight please and any rubbing at full flex lock to lock ?I too did not want tires that stick out too far, for fear of passing inspection. Best wheel option I could find that had both positive offset (+10) and was hubcentric, was Quadratecās 41ā wheel.
Iām really happy with the fitment on 315/70R17 KO2ās with the RC 2.5ā lift. If your willing to do a 17, I canāt recommend enough, especially with the C rated rubber.
