Which mount did you go with? I purchased the Smittybilt intelligent rack only to find that it is not compatible with a backup camera.

I have installed the trailrax. I like them. Solid, easy to install. Folks should absolutely see if this system fits your your needs.

If you remove the hard top the are still attached?
The racks are designed to be quickly removed or mounted. Honestly, once the rack is assembled, it takes about 5 minutes per side to put on or take off. 6 bolts per side Simple.

if your plan is to remove the hardtop, I would remove the Trailrax and then remove the hardtop. if you left the racks on and removed the top, I'm guessing that it would be OK. But putting it back on may be a bit more challenging with the rack’s bottom “hooks”.... shifting the top around may cause the “hooks” to scratch body paint. But, again, that’s just a guess.
