Long wait times for orders? Why?

Good luck I hope it starts being built soon. Can I ask what communication you've had with the dealer and jeep? Like have you been left in the dark or are they trying to at least get you answers?
My dealer updated me weekly generally, Its in Framing, it is on rail, it landed at Tacoma, it is loaded on ship, it is at dealer come by when you can.

That was my experience, great salesmen who kept me informed.

They literally have to sign into dealer connect (maybe only couple guys at dealership can) and get update. D1 was the worst part was in that for 3 or so weeks.

Without reading all the comments, I think my 2019 took about 3 months from when I ordered it. That was 2018, pre-Covid, pre-supply chain issues. So to me, 4 months right now doesn't sound too bad. Although I could see someone being frustrated if it seems like there is no end in site.

Dealer checks periodically and gives me lack of progress updates. Just went to D1 status. Nothing on Cryptostickers.

Not sure what the hell is going on in our country, but so many jobs going unfilled. I know sometimes it's shit wages/benefits etc... for entry level jobs, but whatever happened to taking a job to initially get experience and some pocket money while in school/college, and understanding you need to work your way up over time, or even take a job you don't love so you can pay your bills? Everyone seems to think they immediately deserve top wages/benefits but aren't willing to put in their time and be patient. The industry I'm part of has assured job security, but it took me many years of time/money/sacrifice to get where I'm at; something the younger generations seem at a loss to understand sometimes. I know it's probably more complicated than I can appreciate for many, but sometimes having a less than perfect job is better than having no job and living off the taxpayer's dime. Sorry for the rant.
Seems like a gross oversimplification of things, lumping everyone into a lazy category.

Asia, and yes the chip shortage is real. It’s affecting all manufacturers and some are just removing options, such as cross-traffic alert and rear parking assist in order to keep the manufacturing moving. One can think of it this way, if consumers weren’t so reliant on many of these non-necessary options (blind spot monitoring, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, etc.) that would lessen the burden on all these requires chips.
I was talking to some friends at Mercedes and they were telling me their lower priced models (GLA, GLB, CLA, A classes i believe) dont have power seats anymore. you have to get them optioned in, that was a feature that was standard. A friend at BMW was telling me X7's and X5's are rolling out without touch screens unless optioned and they may do the same thing Mercedes is doing with their lower priced models (this isnt 100% confirmed on my end i havent had a chance to check it out myself)

I have a friend in Detroit. He told me the Jeep Wrangler plant in Toledo, Ohio is running three shifts, seven days a week building Wranglers.

I gave him my VON, and he moved my Wrangler up to the front of the assembly line. My $67K Rubicon was built within 2 weeks after I ordered it. However, as of today, it has been sitting in a rail yard in Toledo for four weeks awaiting a train-car assignment. There may be other problems, but transportation is a very significant factor.

If it stays in D1 it's been around 2 weeks before its built and crypto won't show anything for about 24 hours after it starts from what I've seen lately. Unless it goes back to D

A bunch left because of the mandates. And I have several friends that are truck drivers but can't drive either because companies have mandates or places like California that don't allow private trucks into shipyards.

I have one buddy runs a private shipping business, but because his workers are all contracters, none of them can run out of L.A. and Long Beach...he's the only one because he's the business owner. (I don't really know all the details, just what he's told me over beer and video games.)
Regulations, shortened hours, mandatory breaks and lunch breaks ( 2 if you work over 12 hrs) that count against total hours turning one day trips into layovers, mandatory layover time increased from 8 to 10 hrs . Mandatory breaks and lunches must be taken within specific time frames so even if you have been at a dock for hours you might have to sit there another half hour or you are stuck in a traffic jam and come up against the mandatory break time. Computerized log books so you can’t make it all work and get home for the night. BIG BROTHER cams and microphones to watch and listen to you!!! The job I enjoyed the first 30 years turned into sh#t the last 14 to where I hated the BS and retired ASAP as were a number of fellow drivers who were/are as fed up as me. Others just quit to do something different. The company that required 5 years experience when I was hired was scraping the bottom of the barrel and accepting “drivers” who couldn’t drive their finger up their a#s with a roadmap and directions!!!

You wouldn’t like me if you knew
Fortunately I did not wait long at all for my rubicon.

From the day I ordered to the day it was delivered to dealer was 25 days.

22 JL 2 door 6 speed

My 15 Sahara took 3 months to come in and that was during normal times

why are no Wranglers being shipped to the southeast? My Wrangler has been sitting along with several truckloads that my dealer is waiting for. When I do the search on the Jeep site, overall there are few at any dealer in NC, most listed as ‘being built’ or ‘shipping’. One would think that the shortage overall would be widespread but appears to be worse in some areas. Appears more deliveries to mid-east dealers, and midwelt dealers, and now CA.

Much more is involved than a rail car or truck delivering a Wrangler to the dealership. I went back an re-read this 2020 report on how complicated the Wrangler supply chain is. 50% of the supply comes from Canada so the recent trucker blockade impacts it. It will not answer the OPs question but shows how many ways delays can enter into the system. If you have not looked it over it might use up a little of our waiting time. The date is probably pre covid so many things have probably changed. Wrangler supply chain explained

This all makes me feel warm and fuzzy lol. I guess I'm mentally preparing for 3-4 months. I'm heading to the dealer today officially finalize my order.

I'm under 4.5 hours from Toledo so hopefully a train (only a truck delivery) isn't involved in getting my future Jeep to me, to save a hot second.

Hopefully you're aware that you can get a Wrangler for quite a bit under invoice.
