Thanks, that was very informative.

I am also planning to install this, i just have to decide where to get my install done; at JeepKonnection or LRA
The shops are close to each other, and maybe JeepKonection might take an extra day to get the stock over. But my view is that JeepKonection specialises in Jeep installations, so I feel it might be done faster and more trouble free. It might also be efficient taking your Jeep to one place if you were getting other accessories installed at the same time.

I have no affiliation with JeepKonection, and can only say from my experience that they were very thorough. Even though the install takes a few hours, they kept my Jeep overnight to see if there were any leaks, test and address any issues.

On a positive note, 14 months on and my tank is still working flawlessly. It was super handy to have filled up a week before the Easter price hike for my road trip.

Has anyone used the LRA tank in hot (+40degC) temps?
the LRA tank in my JK fumes quite badly and doesn’t transfer fuel when it’s over 40.

that is concerning, does that indicate a leak ?

It’s a venting issuse, the LRA tank uses the stock vent system and I don’t think it can cope with the 70ish% increase in fuel capacity. Longranger add a extra charcoal Canister

the thank is mounted quite close to the exhaust pipe. could that also affect the fuel venting system ?

Alas JeepKonection is not very trustworthy, they sold me a front bumper in Sep 2020 and I am still waiting for delivery. I guess it was my mistake to agree for an advance payment.

Sorry to hear that. I know COVID-19 delayed some shipments last year from the US but it really should be sorted now. I had ordered an SPOD bantam (from US), Teraflex steering stabiliser and relocation kit (from US) and ARB air lockers and compressor (local stock) through JeepKonection in August 2020 and wasn’t able to have them installed until mid-December 2020 due to US shipping delays. Once in stock, it took two days for installation at JeepKonection.

I ordered the Rock Slide Engineering drop side steps and AEV lift kit in March 2021, and still waiting for them to arrive to JeepKonection. I’ve been told it’s shipping issues again due to COVID-19 impacts on US, but was informed a couple of weeks ago that they should be here in June.

For all my orders I put down 10-25% deposit and haven’t had any issues, but I’ve only had two experiences there. I can update on how this current order goes.

I think you should give them a call again and see what the deal is with your order. Of course, we are currently in another COVID-19 lockdown in Victoria so I don’t know if they are opened now.

UPDATE: The parts were delivered in mid June and I got the installations done at JeepKonection in late June.

I have received parts from them that were sold as new parts however they were obviously second hand ie old rtv on a supposedly new diff cover.

It is time to ask for a refund and then contact Consumer Affairs.

In the meantime, I have bought stuff online from Quatratec in the US. I pay with Paypal and the goods arrive quickly and I am happy.

With Quadratec it takes a long time to ship, because their international shipping goes via one warehouse apparently, and even if an item is listed in stock it isn't always. Their support is horrible, I recommend to use PayPal.

My Bestop, Sunrider Softop took 8 days to arrive, the tailgate table took a 3 weeks to arrive so I suppose it depends what is in their warehouse.

Paypal is your friend when it comes to Quadratec as well. They have been sitting on my order for months and not replying my emails. As soon as the issue was escalated to Paypal I have got my refund in a couple of days.

Same for me, they ripped me off on shipping cost after I cancelled one item in my order, and they charged me for shipping for the item I cancelled, even though they said the shipping would be updated. CC company says they can't do anything. Since then it's been PayPal every time.

My JLUR was booked in for a brown Davis tank to be fitted yesterday and after they had everything pulled apart it was obvious that the BD tank wouldn’t fit. Apparently none available from LRA until Jan Feb next year.

Sorry to hear that. If the Brown Davis was only for JKs, surely they should have known better than to book in a JL.

I guess COVID-19 is impacting LRA’s manufacturing, but on the other hand, our lockdowns are negating the ability for any long range driving for now.
