The mpg/fuel situation for the 392 is not ideal. I drive all over the country and to the middle of nowhere, so the range anxiety I got up in the mountains watching my gauge rapidly decrease was not fun.
I read a lot about extra fuel storage for the 392 and just did not like the idea of having to deal with an external tank. I really wanted the LRA but it appears they wonāt make one specific for the 392. However, I was fortunate to find a shop willing to do the custom exhaust work required to fit the standard tank to my 392.
Iāve had it a few weeks now and can say I really like it. It does not hang down and works great. Being able to refill and not have conspicuous tanks on the outside is ideal for me. It cost way more than I would have liked to spend, but I plan on keeping the Jeep for a long time and this alleviates my main issue with it.
