Does anyone commute daily a long distance (100 miles or so) in your Gladiator? If so, how is it? Is the gas mileage killing you?

I’m especially curious about a Rubicon with 35s. Thanks!

i don’t have a long commute but I get low 20’s on the freeway. I suppose it just depends on your specific commute. Is it open freeway or a lot of traffic where your stopping and going a lot. Also depends on your perspective. If you’re coming from a Honda Civic, gas mileage would be a kick in the nuts. If you’re coming from a Dodge Ram, like I did, it’s not that noticeable.

16 mpg?! I’m averaging over 16.5 and only have a 4 mile commute with 3 stops sign and one light. Whenever I jump on the freeway, it climbs drastically. We may be comparing apples and oranges. I have an Overland with KO 33’s. I would’ve guessed you got more than 16 though.

Never had mine on the interstate and the way I go to work I go thru a lot of red lights I haven’t had my speedometer recalibrated l saw on this forum that that helps a lot on shift points on the transmission I may get more than 16 mpg I don’t really look at it that much I am looking at going to 37 inch tires if I go to 37’s I will get the speedometer recalibrated I have the rubicon with 4:10 gears does the overland 3:78 gears

I drive 22 miles one way, 44 mile round trip to work and back in my Sport with Max tow, 4:10 gears on 35's with 2.5" of lift and I am averaging 18.5 MPGs. Best I ever did was right at 21 to Elizabeth City, NC. Normally I'm between 18 and 19 mpgs though, mostly city driving.

50miles one way, AT 33’s, small lift, sport s max tow.

I average 17mpg overall but get 19-22 highway as long as my cruise is set to 65-70mph. The variation is weather dependent, lots of wind lowers my mpg since my state is relatively flat. I also drive very conservatively around town so that helps with mpg a lot.

I drive every few weeks one way 600+ miles Colorado to North Dakota or vice versa... been averaging 14 mpg with winter gas. If there’s wind... below 10. Rubi with 37’s.

Every once in a while I'll take mine to work. 40 miles round trip. I get pretty good mileage in town but drops down to about 15 on the highway. (I have a manual, too)

20 miles each way. Stock Sport S with 6 speed MT. About 50% easy freeway. Most weeks average 20.5 to 22 mpg all around.

I made five trips to California last year for work, around 300 miles each. I use the ACC and drive 3mph over the posted speed limit. I got around 21mpg with a stock Overland. I hand calculate when I gas up and don't usually watch the display, but the dash would show as high as 30mpg on some of the downhill sections I checked.
