Hey folks - finally on the mend, so it means installing Jeep parts!

We got the base rack (minus the rear tail lights - we still need to trim those pieces to fit - which we'll be tackling today).

Today, plan is to get the sliding rack installed - we have the iKamper 2.0 sitting in the garage, ready to be thrown up there.

Will my Overland 270 degree awning ever arrive? We may never know.. they keep saying "in two weeks" - we'll have to use a smaller portable awning in the eastern parts of washington... but, oh man, the sun is relentless there.

@mbaglole - looks great I dig the red on black. I definitely needed a second hand installing once I got to the sliding section of the install. Make sure you don’t short yourself!

Also-
Wanted to let anyone who may be interested know that I’m selling my LOD sliding rack. Post is in the for sale section and I’m located in CT.
Thanks!

What a bummer, it turns out that we were about 1/4 inch off and the latch doesn't fit. We will adjust tomorrow night - oh man, those little screws are terrible.. strip a couple and struggled to get them.. haha. She does look really pretty though. We'll fix it up, get the latch and stopping mechanism adjusted followed by the crossbars.

We got the iKamper 2.0 mounted and hit some dispersed camping in Central Washington.

My biggest gripe, is the cross bars rest against the slots on the tent, causing groaning and screeching. Time to figure a good solution for deleting this.

Rack is fantastic so far otherwise.

Alright, so a few updates on how everything is going:

We put rubber in between the three additional crossbars in-order to mute the metal on metal sound of the rooftop tent mounting rails. I ended up ordering an additional set of 2.0 mounts, which will secure the tent to 4 of 5 crossbars. I'm hoping this will remove the majority of rubbing - the three additional crossbars are for the 270 degree awning (https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/...g-dark-gray-w-black-transit-cover-driver-side). The caveat - the u-bolts that are provided, are about an inch and a half too long and hit the tent's base - I had to cut all of the u-bolts in-order to be able to get them around the crossbar, thread them and have them touch the base of the skycamper 2.0 (not going to lie, total bitch to cut haha).

The stabilizers are falling apart (the rubber pad is sliding off) on the front corners. This is something I'll need to figure out, but they're creaking and incredibly annoying.

Sadly, one mount got run over... so I need to contact them again to get one ordered. Unfortunately, after the first time we talked, they didn't actually put the order in for a new mount - so, we haven't been able to attach the awning yet. I can give a better idea of what that looks like and how it works with the sliding rack after we get it fully mounted. And, an oops picture attached..

* Note: the awning mount does not allow the tent to open, this was to verify that the u-bolts would fit under the tent after cutting.

So I got all everything installed including panels on the back row, iKamper Mini and a Wraptor 4K 270 Degree awning. Anyone have problems with the front support A-Pillar screw down brace knobs squeaking?

I hope LoD is working on a solution. Torque suggestions would help too. The shop that installed my rack had those so torqued down it has gone thru paint. I loosened them up then back down to hand tight. No squeaking. 2 weeks later I put my RTT back on and now squeaking again.

The area where my knobs touch the paint on my windshield frame is already messed up. Like it has a knurled pattern to it.

Any thoughts in the 4K? I’m considering it.

It has worked out pretty well. I have not camped in any high wind (over 20mph) since I got it. Only thing I question is the cover that zips up around it closed is pretty thin and I question how long it will last from UV exposure.
