I only learned after purchasing one... always thought it used 2000 to sound cool like SimCity.

All the Honda "S" cars are named after the engine size in cubic centimeters (with the exception of the one I pointed out). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_S_series
Looking at the engine sizes of the other S series... the 2 liter was much too large.

Yeah, and the reality is that the 45LC factory loads you find will be under the advertised velocity by a disappointing amount.
This is unfortunately true for most of the old calibers especially those originally black powder rounds due to the old firearms designed for low pressure. With modern guns capable of high pressure they can be loaded to higher pressure/velocity. IEā€” I have a single shot Browning in 45/70 that can be loaded to nearly 458WinMag specs. Use great care, should one get used in an old or most modern old style guns, disaster. Editā€” I had a near disaster with a burst barrel on a 50cal that shattered my thumb, powder burned my left arm, and imbedded a piece of stock in my nose next to my eye. The barrel had a ā€œslag inclusionā€ replaced free, Awful Good Of Them!!!!

Same size motor as my JL. :like:

Somehow the JL's 2.0 turbo only has 30 more HP than the N/A S2000. Along with about double the torque & weight, with half the revs...

Made the mistake of letting a guy who owned an Acura RSX drive my Dakota once. I thought he was going to blow my engine when he revved it up to 6k rpm like it was normal... :surprised: Dude was used to hitting 60 in 1st gear, lol.

Yup... stock S2000: 75 MPH in 6th gear = 4000 RPM.

I had mine over 8000 RPM in 6th once...

I am also old school on engine sizes and prefer cubic inches. However, using Ford as a comparison to Jeep using both liters and cubic inches, its an old gimmick.

There were basically three different classic "7 Liter" high performance Ford engines (not to mention the several performance versions of each), but Ford marketed them in both liters and cubic inches.

Sean, meant to respond Tuesday but got distracted. But yeah I definitely know what you mean, before my time at Hood I always associated the 1st CAV patch with stuff like this:

The days of air mobile are long gone. Right as I was leaving Hood in 2021 they started calling themselves the ā€œPenetration Divisionā€ (gross) and tried to focus on Division level breaches, wet gap crossings, and MTCs. Too bad even the NTC where Iā€™m stationed now isnā€™t big enough to support DIV-level maneuvers, at least not with tanks and brads.

Having said that Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t have to go to ā€˜Nam.

On second thought I was at Hood during COVID, the Venessa Guillen stuff, and the Ft. Hood Independent Reviewā€¦ hmm.

I'm trying to think If I ever saw anyone with a 1st Cav patch while I was active duty. I know they were around but just not around me, lol.

I served with quite a few Soldiers while I was in ANGLICO. A lot of them were quick to swap out their 2ID patches for 1st MarDiv once they were opcon to us, lol. The 101st guys kept wearing the 101st patch.

Some of the other teams were attached to Cav Squadrons (and even honorarily earned their spurs) so I'm sure they got to see em.

Almost 50 years ago I was tasked to drive a visiting Soviet physics professor to San Francisco (of the students, I had the best car, a relatively new Chevy Vega).
Driving along the Serra Freeway, he saw the mileage sign and asked me if that was miles or kilometers. I answered: "Oh, no. Miles. Americans believe the metric system is a Communist conspiracy". He burst out laughing.

That 1st CAV Patch, The BIGGEST in the Army is the reason we have Velcro on the shoulders of our ACU's. :CWL:
My old CDR at JCSE wore that patch. Even after he got his "special" patch, he kept the 1ST CAV one.

TFYS!

When I was at Chrysler HQ in 2006-ish(?), they were using liter badges on the hood scoop on Challengers. I made an entry in the internal product suggestion database to switch to c.i. We actually had to estimate cost and benefits on the form. I said we're already sourcing 6.4L badges. so they have production capacity and CAD drawings of the hood contour. All they have to change is the numbers. I said Americans don't care about liters; they think about muscle cars in cubic inches. A year or two later the Challengers had 392 on the hood scoop. I don't know if my suggestion spurred that, but I like to think so.
