For those you that have ran both.....assuming you have the exact same tread (Nitto Trail Grappler or Ridge Grapper or Copper STT Pros) and the exact same width tire .....all 12.5 wide. So a 37x12.50 and a 35x12.50.

The 37s are on a very light wheel that have the total tire/wheels weighing in at 110 lbs. The 35s are on 20" beadlocks which cause the total weight to be 125 pounds.

Would the heavier 35s have a bigger effect on power loss then the lighter but taller 37s???

No, the larger diameter tire will have a larger effect on performance. Now that effect may be minimal, but the diameter is what makes the biggest difference.

NFR is correct. Even though you are dealing with less mass, the diameter will affect momentum. You’ll see an impact on both accelleration and breaking.

One of these days I’ll do the math but it’s late and I want more beer in my system.
