Re-Read my post. It is clear that an adapter is "NOT NEEDED", and I also outlined one reason not to use it...question is does an adapter "CAUSE" a problem? Why do you need an adapter? Thousands of people run nonhubcentric wheels without issues. Very overblown topic and waste of $ on adapters.
Summary so far:
* Adapters cause over confidence and people tend to not torque properly.
* It appears that you could have a problem if the adapter metal material is dissimilar to the wheel material..that will cause corrosion.
* Plastic adapters will melt if over heated.
* Adapters won't fit all wheels
So far none of these spell absolute doom when using an adapter. The first item is the main reason why people are against the adapter, and is the most valid reason.
