It has been mentioned frequently that the JL Rubicon axle is good for 35" Tires, but running 37" tires off road can increase that risk quiet a bit. However, the total weight combined on MT can be much heavier vs AT.
As an example:
The stock 17 Rubicon wheel + KO2 AT is approx. 80 lbs. (22+58)
Total = 80 lbs
35x12.5R17 E Rated KO2 AT is about 66 lbs + Spacer + OEM Wheel
Total = 92 lbs
37x12.5R17 D Rated KO2 AT is about 69 lbs. Plus 1.75" wheel spacer, the combine weigh is approx. (22+4+69) = Total = 95 lbs
As for the MT, Toyo have 35" MT Tires weight as much as 80 lbs. Plus Beadlock wheel @ 40 lbs
Total = 120 lbs.
Does that make running 37" KO2 AT with stock axle pretty reasonable??
