My 2018 Sahara has 33" Falkens on stock wheels; no lift. My plan was to lift the jeep and add 35" tires once the Falkens wore out. Here's the rub: Since Covid I drive about 100-200 miles a month and that won't be changing anytime soon. As such my current tires are going to dry rot before the tread wears out. So the new plan is to keep the 33's but I still want to lift the jeep. Looking for recommendations on a lift that works well with 33" tires. Thanks in advance and of course pics are greatly appreciated.

I have the 4xe Sahara, which has the 20 inch rims and the tires I put one come out to 32-33ish. The 4xe sits about 1 inch higher than non-4xe. I put 1.5 inch Terraflex spacer lift and it looks great (to me.) So, if you like the look of mine, I'd recommend you go with a 2 or 2.5 inch spacer lift and you'll probably be very happy.

This is what my Sahara looked like with a Mopar 2-inch lift and 33-inch tires. It looked terrible!

If you don’t want to replace tires yet, I’d say hold off doing the lift.

Hmmm...

As @aldo98229 has suggested, you may not like the look of a lift with 33's. The Mopar lift will give you a higher lift than some of the others so it might be an extreme example. Nevertheless, look at some pictures of lifts with 33's on a non-Rubicon before you decide.

Some members on the forum have chosen to install Rubicon suspension components instead of a lift. This makes their Jeeps 1 1/2' to 2 ' higher than stock. This more or less puts them on the same height as a stock Rubicon.

You might want to consider this option as well.

I went with the Dynatrac 2” lift. I don’t have it on yet but from what I’ve seen it looks good with 33s. It might be spot on with 34s on a Sport/Sahara. I noticed a lot of Rubicons ran 35s with that lift and it looks good. Unfortunately it’s not installed yet so I don’t have pictures.

Looks like you skipped leg day...

I've had this same internal battle. Think I've settled on Rubicon springs a d call it a day. I'd rather not go to 35s as that's where people start suggesting regears and new rims and whatnot.

Meh I think 37s is safe without a regear on the JL with an 8 speed from what I've read.

I just installed a rubicon suspension on my sport, spring numbers 60/61, 90/91. Added 3/4 spacers and I like the look, i have 285/70 Falkens but have a new set of 285/75 Toyos going on next week. No good pictures but I will snap a few tm.

I did a 2.5” AEV lift in a 2016 JKU and thought it was a little rough riding compared to stock. I drive on the street and like my current Sahara dynamics, so I will be doing a spacer lift next time I want more height. I never really understood why folks did spacer lifts prior to my AEV, but afterwards I figured it was probably the ideal set up for mostly street usage. Cheaper and maintained stock drive dynamics while giving the stance for larger wheels.
another thing I would mention is the tires. You can find some nice larger P rated tires that look aggressive and will ride great. The only non-p tire I would consider is the BFG K02 in load C rating.

I'm curious to see what the AEV 2" spacer lift looks like with 33's. My only off-road work is sand and snow so the lift would be fine for me. It also seems that the suspension from a Rubicon hardtop would work as well.
