I am looking at upgrading my Rubicon stock tires (keeping rims) with Toyo 305/70R17‘s.

These aren’t true 35” tires, measuring 33.8 inches. I don’t want to lose any articulation from the stock build

Is a lift required for no rubbing, etc? If so any suggestions? Dealer suggested a Readylift, but there is a few week lead time.

I have tried to scrub the posts, but haven’t seen a 34” tire being reviewed.

Have you thought about going 285/75-17?
Pretty much a 34" tire but not as wide.

Supposedly the Rubicon, with its higher cut fenders, can handle up to a 35” Tire, or a 315 70 17 with no lift. Both of those sizes actually measure about 34.5 inches.

That's if you don't need articulation, because I have seen a 35 on a stock one and that's compromised, possibly hitting the fenders hard.

That’s true, but really what percentage of Rubicon owners are ever gonna unlock the front sway Bars? Maybe 10%?

a Rubicon with cut fenders and a 2.5 lift can hold 40s lol but true here it is with 2.5 lift and cut fenders and 37s with no lift and cut fenders here

Clearance should be ok, possible rubbing at full articulation (sway bar disconnected). We have also seen peeps with tail gate shell getting stress creases with 35s mounted so its recommended to get the hinge reinforcement kit.

I don't remember where the video was it was on Facebook someone posted or YouTube but they did have like you're saying a crease from 35 when they were going four-wheeling it started to put a crease I would not take a chance I'm putting 37 so I will get the reinforcement no matter what but even with 35 it's a lot more expensive to buy a tailgate and put it on and have it painted then buy the reinforcement

What year is your jeep, I ran same tire on my 2013 two door, with a 2.5 lift it rubbed on stock height had to run wheel spacers with stock wheels finally went to new wheel to correct the problem properly..

315x70r17's on stock rubicon wheels on a rubicon won't rub. This guy proves it. 315/70r17's wheeled hard and there is zero rubbing with no lift.
