Lifespan of two straps and recovery straps

Probably a stupid question but what is the lifespan of recovery and tow straps. Do they degrade due to heat in vehicles while in storage? Curious because I was just thinking that. My gear is now 20yrs old and stored in TJ the whole time

Unless you submit it to 150F+ a lot, you're more likely to wear it out or damage it. I have some high quality tow straps that are 30 years old.

About 10 years in phoenix 120F but near 200 in vehicles, and baton rouge 95F near 180 in vehicles, and another 10 yrs in frigid northern MN -30F is common.

Direct still can do damage to some based on material. Biggest thing is use damage if they start fraying or get cut time to start looking to replace
