License plate color

My Jeep is pretty much all blacked out now and those orange plates are getting to me. What do you guys think about a custom plate like this to go with all black?

I have to say I like seeing the typical NY plates. One of my sons lives in Brooklyn.

And in full disclosure, I would be on the other side of the bargaining table on those union plates, even though I like the colors.

Well in Ohio yellow plates are “party plates” so every time I see someone with New York plates, I assume they’re drunk. Also the ones you show pictured are ugly af (colors are fine though). But at least if you come to Ohio we won’t judge you!

Yeah, I'm a Yankee fan but I didn't like how the new york was in yellow.

That is not bad. Also some states allow the plate to displayed behind a plastic cover if that is the case with NY, you may be able to get one that is slightly tinted to reduce the color.

Lol when I was moving to Maine from Ohio, I saw all those yellow plates on the toll road and thought damn what's wrong with this state? freaking drunks everywhere

I would say that it will look good! I have a Florida disabled veteran plate that has the same colors, and my Jeep is blacked out too. Orange...not so much.

Maybe contact the DOT or whoever makes the decisions on license plates and pitch the idea of black plates. Iowa just started making "blackout plates" last month, pretty sure I'll be switching to that style soon!

I kind of like the original colors. Industrial / safety looking. I'd keep it.

I got the california optional original plates, looks good with the Sting Grey color

I'm personally fine with the NY plates. I much prefer them over white plates and especially the older NY plates as well.
