I'm with you in spirit. If I want it to rain, all I have to do is wash my Jeep.Decided it was time to switch to summer mode this afternoon. It’ll probably snow a foot in the next month as a result.
What's the cost for the half doors? On the Jeep web builder, it isn't an option to keep the full doors. Here are a few pics of my 2-door Rubicon. Ordered in April 2021 and received on June 12, 2021. I am convinced the delay in delivery was due to the half doors. I ordered my Rubicon with the upper side body graphic. I wondered whether the half doors would have the graphic applied. As you can see from the first picture, the upper side body graphic was not applied. Took it back to my Jeep dealer who applied the graphic on my half doors under warranty. You can see the pictures with the graphic applied by the dealer.
I love the half doors. Mine required no adjustment. It was great that the outside mirrors, the remote proximity door locks, etc. worked. I learned the hard way that you have to be super careful when reconnecting the wiring. If you don't get it just right, not all of the features will work. After trying a few times and having a learning curve, I figured how to properly reconnect the wiring and now everything works perfectly. It is my favorite option (and I ordered most options). Expensive, yes, but the fact that everything works, the paint matches, and the door properly latches, was worth it to me.
Per the 2022 configurator tool, the Dual Door group w/base uppers is $2,350.00. Add $200.00 if premium uppers are selected. That's the cost to add the half doors to one's JL order. What's the cost for the half doors? On the Jeep web builder, it isn't an option to keep the full doors.
They don’t sell them separately.Anyone know the dealer price for half doors a la carte?
This is for a 2DR model keep in mind. 4DR is like $4395 w/premium uppers. Or something like that. You get both full doors on the Jeep and half doors come boxed up.Per the 2022 configurator tool, the Dual Door group w/base uppers is $2,350.00. Add $200.00 if premium uppers are selected. Yes. The post you quoted plainly states the pricing is for the JL, not the JLU.This is for a 2DR model keep in mind. 4DR is like $4395 w/premium uppers.
Half doors are VIN-matched to the vehicle. Should the eventual buyer of the Jeep ever want half doors later on, Toledo might refuse since they're already on record as being constructed and sold. More to the point, the buyer might ask why the Dual Door Group line item is evident on the window sticker, when the half doors aren't included with the vehicle (that he wouldn't be charged for said line item isn't the point here.)If you can’t find any half doors to buy separately, I wonder if you could go to a dealer, order a new Jeep with dual door group, and then when the Jeep arrives from factory… just only buy the half doors from the dealer and let them have the rest of the Jeep to sell?
All good. Just trying to think outside the box.Half doors are VIN-matched to the vehicle. With respect, Steve, it's difficult to envision any dealer agreeing to that arrangement. Consider also their opinion of the half-door buyer who would knowingly refuse delivery of the new Jeep, which is necessary to make his scheme work.
No worries. Sometimes we have to remember when it's appropriate to stay inside the lines. All good. Just trying to think outside the box.
