Is it possible to order half doors separately from the initial build. I’m now regretting not ordering the dual-door group. Hopefully, picking up this week

As of right now, no one sells a complete kit for half doors. I've had no luck finding some for my two door JL. I decided to order both doors just in case I ever wanted to have to option. I figured worst-case we’d sell them if we didn’t use them.
pull them out to make sure they color match, but headed into Winter now not sure I’ll get a chance to put them on before it gets cold.

- '21 2-door Wrangler Rubicon (ordered 4/3/21)
Here are a few pics of my 2-door Rubicon. Ordered in April 2021 and received on June 12, 2021. I am convinced the delay in delivery was due to the half doors. I ordered my Rubicon with the upper side body graphic. I wondered whether the half doors would have the graphic applied. As you can see from the first picture, the upper side body graphic was not applied. Took it back to my Jeep dealer who applied the graphic on my half doors under warranty. You can see the pictures with the graphic applied by the dealer.
I love the half doors. Mine required no adjustment. It was great that the outside mirrors, the remote proximity door locks, etc. worked. I learned the hard way that you have to be super careful when reconnecting the wiring. If you don't get it just right, not all of the features will work. After trying a few times and having a learning curve, I figured how to properly reconnect the wiring and now everything works perfectly. It is my favorite option (and I ordered most options). Expensive, yes, but the fact that everything works, the paint matches, and the door properly latches, was worth it to me.

Just unpacked mine and swaped them over before it gets to cold. May not have a chance to put the soft top on though

Yes. You'll want to take your VIN # to the dealer's Parts Dept. to ensure that the half doors are correctly matched to your vehicle's original build configuration.
As for lead time, my salesman suggested that delivery delays for a major accessory like half doors, purchased a la carte, may be linked to Toledo prioritizing parts availability for vehicle builds first. This makes sense since there's more money for Stellantis when doing it that way.

Ordered 2021 w half doors and premium uppers. After seeing the nonsense and the prices of used ones, I thought $2500 was pretty reasonable color matched with perimeter entry & heated power mirrors and locks!!! 6-speed.

Wranglers look so correct with half doors that FCA's decision to withdraw them for a little while still seems odd.
It's nothing to do with the new Bronco introduction, in my view, since factory half doors and soft uppers were available for several decades before going missing between 2018-2021. They were in fact standard on my YJ (specifically, the "Wrangler S" trim), with full doors being an extra-cost accessory. If only that were true today...
