Make sure you vote above ...This morning CarPlay was fine on the way to baseball practice. After practice, phone knows it’s connected and car knows phone is connected, but pressing CarPlay on screen just goes black and then back to whatever I was displaying before (SXM or navigation, etc). First time in the month I’ve had the car that I’ve had any issues with CarPlay or Uconnect.
Hi Rubiconnor,,Mine doesn't have any of those issues however randomly it wont allow me to change apps. If it is in the radio app and I try to change to media, climate, or nav it wont allow it and the other way around too. I can still change stations with the steering wheel button but it is a pain when I cant get back to nav while using it.
Same with me. I've narrowed down when it happens. For me, it's only after I've been driving, park, shut the Jeep off, then return fairly quickly and start it again. That's when it won't allow me to change apps. So say like getting gas, or running into the store and returning etc. I've noticed that if the Jeep sits long enough and you come back and start it and you get the boot screen again, all works fine. I've also noticed when you can't switch, if you shut down, open the door to kill the power, then restrart the Jeep all is good again. So it has something to do with the Jeep when the Uconnect does a partial reboot rather than the full reboot.Mine doesn't have any of those issues however randomly it wont allow me to change apps. guess I got lucky. they are replacing my radio with just video proof. unfortunately it's been two weeks and still no new radio.Just dropped my JLUR off at the dealership, told them I have a bunch of videos of the radio acting crazy or not responding to anything, the service guy said it doesn’t matter if I have video, if the computer doesn’t pick up an error code there is nothing they can do... so basically told me they’re going to keep it over night and see what comes up, the problem is.. that it only happens randomly.. ie (why I took videos) you just can’t win.. this is the second time I brought it in for radio issues and also now the USB port in the dash board is no longer working...I did the whole kill them with kindness when I dropped it off, but at a loss for words, with solid proof of issues and having to pull the fuse 3-4 times since I had it., doesn’t seem to be justification enough...sucks to be me I guess.. @JeepCares
