What exactly is the benefit of making that adjustment? Tighter seal? Forward movement? Something else?
Tighten seal.

Anyone know if the JTOPS play well with the sunrider? Looks to me like you would need to at least fold the front part back when using the sunrider. I think I would only want the shade if the entire top is off.

Passenger side is the side that I see the most noise on.... at speeds above say 65 mph.

IF you talk to Bestop, they tell you there is room for a tad of adjustment on the JL itself to help quell noise.. There is, I did the best adjustment possible but still passenger side noisy. Been dealing with it for a few thousand miles.... I take it as a trade off so to speak for having the SR that I truly enjoy..

I actually worked on the clamp downs again today.... I am trying something different to tighten things up there... Will report back in a day or so if it works to decrease noise. I'm somewhat hopeful.

By the way, IF you lower the Jl's sunvisor, you will see two Torx head bolt heads covered with a circular patch of Velcro. Remove the Velcro and save as it is reusable. Now, loosen the two torx bolts, push the bracket they secure fully forward and then re-tighten the Torx bolts and stick the Velcro circles back on. That is the adjustment Best Top says to do.

.

.
Did you only adjust passenger side or both to get balance in tension?

Did both sides... over a month ago and it did nada.

Yesterday, I actually adjusted the mechanism on the SR itself and that did nothing.

I have officially given up on it. Reality is, I had some noise on the passenger side even with the Freedom Panels.

I tried adjusting just the pass side. It made the connection tighter but no improvement in the pass side wind noise at all.

This makes me think maybe the pass side problem has to do with the door seal and not the SR seal....

The bestop adjustment its fore aft. The door seal at top to SR rail is lateral. No real adjustment there. Maybe flex rotate outwards.

I tried a foam seal in this depression area caused by the rail but no improvement.

There was one other forum guy since the Bestop SR for JL was made available that said he had used it / kept it in place with the hard top off.

I'd think you would be ok.

Consider using the straps when in the open position and no hard top on.

so far so good. city run last night no issues. highway run to work this morning 30 miles no issues.

Just use the heated seats and the heated steering wheel in the morning.

I'm thinking carrying a right sized umbrella makes sense, as the back of the SR just might drip onto my head if it rains. I'll have to watch for not blocking the rear view mirror tho, which may be a challenge. I live in el paso though and we get 279 days of clear sky a year, so it ain't that bad.

Thinking now that my new normal will be may 1 to nov 1 sunrider only.....

Got it!.. loosen all bolts and get this sucker shown here back in track. Doesn't show well but there is a part in that pic to the left that has to go into or inside part of the track.

Wasnt. Now is
