When I fell in love with Jeeps as a boy, they were all 2 doors. 2 door looks better. I don't need 4 doors. 4 doors need a lift to look right, imho. 2 doors have a better break over and are easier to maneuver.
Shorter version: 2-door are just FBA

We ordered (6/4/2018) JL White Rubicon 2 door with the 4 cyl. turbo - in stage D1 right now - hopeful that the motor choice doesn't bog down the order....but very excited about the new forthcoming Rubicon!

I ordered (6/11/18) a JL Sport (Punk'n) 2 door with the soft top. To me that is the way a Wangler should look.

2 door style, 2 door price, 2 door capability, 2 door heritage

the minivans just don't do it for me

also it should feel a little quicker than the 4, so that's nice

To each their own of course, but strangely enough to me, the 2 door came down to convenience. I live in NYC, so 166 inches when I need to street park is much appreciated. It also technically isn't an oversize vehicle when it comes to garage parking though some still see a Jeep and charge anyway or decree that the height alone classifies it as such, which is a whole load of bs I'll save for another day.

Also, with every passing year I become more adept at embracing my child at heart. For those who yearn for more theatre out of life, there's just something about a 2 door that puts a smile on one's face. In truth, my first ever car was a 2 door Jeep, manufactured by Fisher-Price under the power wheels moniker. It was two doors, military themed, had jerry cans on the side, and was utterly glorious. I kept that thing pristine and put down some serious miles.

So it's both the pragmatist and the five year old idealist in me that decided a 2 door was the way to go. Incidentally, I have two on order given the 2.0L debacle and my aforementioned child like tendencies lending me a healthy dose of impatience. We'll see if my 2.0 or 3.6 come first. The 2.0 is a Firecracker Red/Tan Soft topper Sport S , the 3.6 is a Mojito!/Tan because why the hell not?

Jeeps are good at street parking because a Jeep can push the others away .

Having two on order makes you the champion !

I loved Jeeps as a kid but never was able to ride in one. A few years after I graduated college I bought one. Since I hadn't really looked into the Jeep ecosystem before I was surprised at the Jeep ecosystem, ie Sport/Sahara/Rubicon and then "Unlimited". It was definitely a learning experience. Now having just picked up a manual JL Sport S Punk'n I'm seeing how the 2 doors are really are the minority. I never thought about it until this year. As a result 4 doors models and their accessories are released first. I see how our culture has influenced our buying habits.

Anyway, a 2 door jeep fits my lifestyle better. I love how it zips around, how it looks, how it runs. It's a lot of fun. And my family is happier that I'm spending money on a Jeep rather than a motorcycle.

I dont plan on having passengers in my 2 dr JL. my wife and i rarely get company and if the kids ever visit we have her car for that. my thoughts were just a dependable vehicle for traveling and i limit how much stuff the wife can bring (lol). seriously a 2 dr is perfect for the wife and myself. i think the proportions are better on the 2 dr also.

Took delivery of my car on saturday at noon and by 3:00 the back seat was out, wrapped, and put into storage. I agree the proportions for the two door look better (this is my third) - I have other vehicles with four door if we ever get company

For those who got the 2 what made you go that way vs the 4?
For me was just the sheer size of the 4-door that made me stick with the 2-door. I live in the city and have to park on city streets for both home and work so being able to squeeze into tight spots is a plus.

Does the new 2 door ride as well as the 4 door on the highway now? The 4 door drove well that I tested, but curious on the 2 door. Typically LWB rides better.

I just drove my new Sport 2 door 120 miles home today. I traded a 2017 JKUR in on it and had to drive it 120 miles to tne dealership to trade. My impressions are as follows:

I've read that the new JL is a much better driving Jeep than the JK. My trip today did not bear that out. The JL did not track as well as the JK, it wandered on grooves in the road shrface, it needs constant attention when driving on the highway. It did not drive as good as the JK did.

It does seem ride as good on the highway. We got back to La Grande this afternoon and felt fine. The JL is very easy to ride in. It is smooth on the highway. It is a soft top, but while not as quiet as a hard top, it is much more quiet than my old TJs were and it drives MUCH better than I femember tbe TJs driving.

But, I think tney did their homework on this one.....it is a Jeep through and through. It is a throwback to a different time without being harsh. They seem to have overall improved the vehicle, but not at the expense of the essence of the Jeep.

The top is a little noisy, the ride is firm, it does not take corners like a sports car, but holy crap....it's a Jeep. FCA has managed to put a modern, reliable, and efficient power train in a very capable off road vehicle that passes both emissions and safety requirements. I think they nailed it.

As you can tell I am excited about this new Jeep!

Back to tbe original question....It does not drive as well as a 4 door, but it is the BEST driving 2 door I've seen or owned in the last 30 years.

I love this thing!

Did you check the tire pressure? My JLR was all over the place on the drive home and WAY overinflated. I dunno if its as big of a problem on Sports though.
