You are killing me!! They won't cook eggs either. LOL!!!!!!!!
It’s absurd that the $900 LEDs on a $50K Jeep wouldn’t cook my eggs or melt my snow. Has anyone tried melting snow with the dash lights? Curious if FCA at least gave us that option. SMH

Should have bought a JK.

No on the JK...aside from the snow thing the led's are worth every penny. It's not like it snows every day at night so you'll be just fine.

C'mon man, everyone knows hotdogs get cooked in the tailpipes...plus it'll look pretty silly with wieners hanging from my headlights:idea:

Pic just for kicks. Put the air dam back on :cwl:

I have a 2012 sport. Hardtop, air, 35X12 Duratrac, SmittyBilt X20 1200 winch. I stoped moding it as soon as I found out about the JT.

How can you say it's on the customer?!?? If the deep dish design is causing the snow build up along with the fact that LEDs dont provide enough heat then it's on Jeep to make sure the HEADLIGHTS function in snowy weather.

It's a design flaw!

You cant depend on the heat a headlight produces to make a car safe to drive in snowy weather at night that's nonsense.
Jeeps have had recessed lights for how long? Its not a design flaw its a design choice thats been around for decades.

Yes, but not as deep as the JL's lights. Every model got deeper and deeper.

Also, 99.9% of them all had halogens..the issue never arose.

Sorry, the laws of physics don't work that way. The energy converted to heat has to come from somewhere.
Actually they do...on a 35watt system i put on my motorcycle HID were significantly warmer at the lense...i checked with ir thermometer. They also drew less power which caused the generators to whine a bit. The whining is a safety feature to indicate lower draw like one would experience with a burnt out headlight.

TJ is recessed about .5 inch while jl is 1.75. Yes the jl is recessed more but if u put led on a tj i guarentee it will ice up as well. Hell ive routinely had my tj ice up in bad storms even with a halogen.

Maybe leds should be flush with grill on jl but its still going to ice up due to aerodynamics, plus the jeep would look stupid. Its a design choice.
Maybe jeep needs to have a warning included on the build a jeep site so people know led is a poor decision for snowy climates.
