I had the OEM halogen driving lights and turn signals swapped out by the dealer yesterday - after two return trips to the dealer - the lights are finally working, BUT can the dealer do a code to get the dash message for "turn signal lights are out" to not come up every time you turn on the jeep? Please advise. If it can go away - what is the code or how to remove. Much appreciated.

If the dealership installed OEM parts correctly there should be no issue, if you are still getting a message it should be a red flag that they didn't install it properly. Just because they now "work" after several trips back to them doesn't mean that they are functioning properly as they should as if it was installed at the plant.

I wonder if a relay may be needed since it’s been programmed for halogen. I’m sure someone who’s had this swap can advise. Best of luck on finding a solution.

The dealership is claiming that a relay or resistor is needed to clear the message since it is not designed for the VIN (moving from halogen to LED). The issue is if they install the relay or resistor - it will void the warranty?? I would rather deal with the message than lose the warranty. I would agree - I saw all of the other threads on here about adding the lights and working - but none seemed to say whether they were able to get the dealer to clear the message from the dash.

Look into American Adventure Lab, they sell a relay to get around this for their chop light kit. It connects between the factory connection and the light, it uses factory male and female connectors. Unless they investigate further, they’ll never know it’s installed.

Any and all help is appreciated. If the choice is - live with the message or remove the lights - I will live with the message. I do hope the dealer installed them correctly. if others can respond on here to confirm that their dealer removed the message - I would go back and have them install them correctly.

That literally makes no sense, if they are using OEM parts there is no reason why it would create any issues with your warranty... thats like saying that installing the Mopar sidesteps would void you warrenty. It sounds like the dealership is doing a run around with you...

I agree with what it sounds like. I have talked to three local dealers - only one was willing to try the install on the fender lights. The other two stated that the VIN will not accept the lights and work properly. All the computer stuff is good and bad...

Has anyone used this with the OEM ones and had success? Heading out for a little - but will check later for replies. Thank you ALL.

First off, anything installed by your dealership does not void your warranty. In-fact your warranty for parts installed by the dealership is typically 5 years. In your case, the LED’s should actually extend past your standard bumper to bumper warranty.

When they installed them, they should’ve also installed the relay as a part of the LED package you purchased and flashed your rigs computer to let it know that you now have LED’s.

If you purchased the LED’s elsewhere and brought them to the dealership they should’ve informed you that an additional relay/resistor would be needed at your cost.

As for the VIN. Your build sheet will need to be updated with the code for the LED PKG. But this has nothing to do with the light on your dash.

The LED Lighting Group Code is: AD6

But they likely will not add it unless you also purchased the taillights as well. To get AD6 on your build sheet you will have to have the entire LED PKG installed.

I'm sure the Admin will move this to the Lighting section below soon enough but the chances of the Dealer being able to fix this is slim. There are many threads on this issue in the Lighting section, sadly you will most likely have to fix this yourself with a Tazer, FlashCal or JScan OBD app all are described in detail in the,,,, you guessed it! the Lighting section.

Gregj

PS I installed OEM LED's on my Sport and got them working with the JScan App, I also installed the Morimoto Sequential lights in my Wife's Jeep and got them working with the Tazer. good luck.

PPS: no resistors or relays are needed if you use one of the mentioned Programmers.

I did buy from someone on the forum and had the dealer install. Is there a mopar relay that is sold or is aftermarket the only option?

Sorry still kind of new - didn’t mean to add in this section if it is meant for the lighting section. But appreciate the replies.
