Is there a way to turn this off or to make sure the lights default to low beam? I don't have the advanced safety package so I do not have the auto-dim high beam option. My main concern is that whenever I come home at night I have to go a few miles through some back country woods with lots of deer so I always turn my high beams on and then just turn off the Jeep once I am in the driveway. Then the next day I will be driving and the automatic headlights will turn the lights on, but they kick on with the High Beam still activated and I don't really notice it right away and look like a jackass rolling around with my high beams on by accident.

Remember to turn them off before you shut the vehicle off, or you should notice the blue headlight icon lit up by your speedometer when you turn the vehicle on.
The blue light doesn't show up again until the headlights get turned back on automatically, so I'll be out driving all day and then they kick on and I won't notice right away.

Maybe someone with a Tazer can chime in if it can be programmed out? The advanced safety package with the auto high-beam function would have been perfect.

There really needs to be a feature for this, similar to how some newer cars have a dinging that automatically comes on to remind the driver to cancel their turn signal off after the 47th mile of looking like an idiot.

I would gladly do this once auto manufacturers move the high beam switch back to the floor where it belongs.
It hasn’t been on the floor in nearly 50 years, eventually you’ll get used to it.

Funnily enough almost everyone I've ever known that's driven a car with the high beam switch on the floor prefers them that way.

The JL has that feature. In my defense, when I found that out, I had the roof off and couldn't hear much.

I had many cars with that feature growing up and definitely see the appeal.
Beer in one hand, doobie in the other while steering with my knees then all of a sudden I had to dim my lights when I met a cop.

Pops had a 1988 New Yorker that chimed at you if you left your turn signal on. I have not seen that feature return on another Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge manufactured vehicle.

Yea that function is likely in the switch not in the BCM, so its less the "car remembering" and you just not turning off the switch. Just like if in any other car you left the high beams when you got out and were SOMEHOW surprised they were on when you got back in the next day.
